BUT IT IS AGAINST THE RULES. She is very well informed on the rules. She knew as high profile as she is that she would likely get tested regularly and she shrugged her shoulders and took a puff anyway? She's a moron and absolutely needs to be taught this lesson.

Sure they can ignore their own rules, they made the rules, so they can ignore them. didn't USATF just do this a few days ago, when they temporarily put Shelby on the Trials start lists even though it was explicitly against USATF rules to ignore doping violations? they would only have to do that again for Sha'Carri.

Now granted WADA/IOC got angry that USATF made that exception for Shelby, because they were letting a convicted doper compete while she was banned. But in this case Sha'Carri wouldn't be competing while she's banned so there would be no problem.

If the general consensus is that weed shouldn't be on the banned substance list, and we're punishing her just to uphold the "rules are rules" way of doing things, what actual lesson is being learned? Teaching someone to follow those rules is only a lesson if those rules are just. Brain dead takes from weird shut-ins who've never broken a rule in their life and think they are morally superior to everyone. Just bizarre.

1. Story gets huge attention after all of the trials hype last week.

2. Massive outcry in mainstream media.

3. General public takes Richardson's side ("it's only weed").

4. Narrative becomes Richardson being the victim of outdated rules (also "rules disproportionately affect black athletes", "black woman robbed of Olympic dreams by oppressive authorities" etc.)

5. Richardson becomes even more well-known, and an underdog.

6. Somehow manages to avoid suspension and gets to Tokyo with her name fresh in everyone's minds.

7. "Overcomes all obstacles" and wins 100m gold.

8. Ends the Olympics as one of the world's most valuable female athletes.

This is the exactly course this will take. Sha'Carri needs to double down on this and say; " yeah, I smoked it, so what. Everyone smokes it and it's legal. My block starts be slow af and now you know why, if I stop smoking that's where the unfair advantage is, I'm just trying to give them a chance."

Nothing definitive saying she will miss the Olympics. Just a bunch of “in danger” “possible” and “unlikely” being thrown out. Must mean there’s more to the story that will come out soon. I have a strong feeling she will still run the 100 in Tokyo.
