Nothing wrong with a runner with solid PRs & reach getting a better deal. It sounds amicable enough. Bowerman/Nike wanted her up to a certain price. Someone else offered her more. She took it.
Pretty surprised with all of the departures from Bowerman. Seems like they had a good thing going and some of the losses were a big part of the team, or at least on the surface. But they're still beyond loaded. Just seems like an interesting shake up before the Trials. Why not cut a year from now? It can't be fun for the athletes to go through this. I'm sure they're somewhat discouraged from talking about these things. They probably aren't exactly encouraged to talk about how much they all make.
Agreed on your first point - posts about Quigley always seem to bring out some creepers.
I think this is great timing for her to make a change. Still at a point in her career that she can get a financial windfall from it, setting her up nicely to wind down her career. If she had waited another couple years when she’s not a clear top-3 in any event then she wouldn’t have nearly as much bargaining leverage.

Similar situation here. Colleen is a very nice young woman and very giving of her time with young athletes.

There have been rumblings for awhile that she wasn't as 'in' with the group, but I was always under the impression that it was more detachment than drama. A lot of the women in the group aren't just teammates, but really close friends. Colleen has taken on more sponsorships and partnerships with companies other than Nike and has been in some injury cycles in the past 2-3 years so she was doing a lot more solo traveling and training and just wasn't as involved socially with the rest of the team. I don't think she had close friendships there, but there was mutual respect.
I will agree, Colleen is great with HS kids. We've never had a bad experience with a pro, but she is one of the best at engaging with them. Coburn is really good too.

Based on remarks she made in a recent podcast, it was clear she wasn't super close with any of the girls. Also heard that from a few of her teammates directly.

I could see her being a nice fit with NB and Team Bosshard. New Balance puts the lion's share of their sponsorship dollars towards elite women and Quigley's accessibility would give their athleisure and youth running silos a big boost. On the training front, she would be a fantastic training partner for Coburn (along with Praught-Leer) and the US steeple heir apparent when Emma retires.

I think she was doing better on social media than most of them, and also got substantially better sponsorship deals due to her larger reach. Girls in general are just overly competitive and often get upset, if someone beats them in a race or workout. Or if someone is more popular than them.
I've seen guys lose a race to their best friend/teammate, and go out for a drink/meal afterwards.
I've seen females lose a race to a teammate or close friend, and drop the friendship for literally no reason.
There is a reason why famous teams like Tinman Elite don't even have a women's division yet. Lots of possible drama, especially behind the scenes.
