On second thought...I was neglecting to consider Stinson's knee surgery. Maybe it would not be the best race for him.

Seth for the mountain win because he does much more vertical climbing/descending than Parker.

Road and Mountain racing use different skillsets and training. Seth has more experience in mountains, but Parker might need a few trails runs to see if he has the leg gears to ascend and descend at a high level.

BTW, that is what DeMoor did. He was unrecruited out of high school, read Running with the Buffaloes, and tried to walk on at the University of Colorado under Mark Wetmore, but he didn't make it. So he trained up and tried again the next year and did make it. This is not his first rodeo.

I was unrecruited out of high school, walked on my first year at CU, ran faster than SJD did, and was a smoldering wreck by the time I was 35. What impresses me most is that he's still going, and messing around with shoes on the way. Not what I'd suggest at 35.

I specifically said the PP Ascent, rather than the PP Full, because lightweight Seth does better climbing rather than descending (the latter takes a certain skillset, and some crazy bravado to rip it, and having a family to support may factor into his performance descending.)

That being said, he has not been afraid to rip it in the past; for instance, check this video at the 12:09 mark:

All still impressive!

Those times are crazy fast!

Do you think Whitlock would have run in VaporFlys? He eventually had cartilage trouble in his knees.

In addition as a counter to the point that Seth is lacking in coaching and running knowledge, in one of his videos he interviews his younger brother, who is bigger and was probably more athletically gifted in high school, being both a runner and basketball player. Seth coached him on-the-side back then, and if I'm not mistaken, his brother got an athletic scholarship to run at CU.

I miscounted the days. Based on his vlog, it appears he went up to run at 9000 ft on the morning of Jan 13, which would be only four days out from the race. Being that close to the race, that quite possibly is actually taking hay out of the barn and cutting into his recovery time.

Gonna bump this thread and admit I also don't know what TMADDDHASFNE means. Even if he's now banned, anyone who knows want to fill the rest of us in?
