Trump's debate performance wasn't the best but it was far from embarrassing particularly when it was 3 on 1 with the moderators actively lying during the entirely 1 sided fact checks.
CNN's own poll showed Trump winning the debate on the economy and the economy is what matters to voters.
Trump's performance was made worse by the fact that the moderator's did very benign real time fact checking on both candidate's statements, and the one that routinely lies was called out in a few cases. It was simply a case that these moderators chose to include this reasonable approach, which obviously was to the detriment of the guy who frequently doesn't tell the truth.
Trump may have done better on the economy relative to his other attack points but whether or not he beat Harris in that area is probably swayed by the fact that he did so abysmally on the other areas. That's the way polling works - people feel compelled to throw at least one or two to the other guy even if they didn't earn it.
But main point is that Trump got owned last night and you will look like just a big of a fool if you persist with backing him.

Tariffs hurt when you don't have a local alternative. We don't make the vast majority of the goods that we consume. Virtually all of it is imported. That 15%-20% is absolutely a tax on the consumer.

Anyone saying you just buy it locally is being dishonest. All those Tariffs would be immediately passed on consumers. And it would be a much greater disaster than his first term because he would tariff all imports so you could not source from a different country than China.
In addition tariffs add a huge complexity that is time consuming for business that adds further costs because you must gain broker assistance.
The only thing I wonder about is if this is just Trump campaigning BS or if he would actually follow through and wreck our economy.
