Here are the total excess death numbers from the 24 countries that participate in the Euromomo survey.
Week 17 just released today.
These totals for Weeks 1-17 are from the years 2018 and 2020- we must keep in mind that this is all during a described global pandemic of historical proportions that has been the stated cause for the lock down of 3-4 billion people and the shutting down of numerous economies across the world- not to mention the immense suffering caused by both of those reactions to this pandemic.
Europe Excess Death Totals Weeks 1-17- All Ages: 2018: 1,244,275
Europe Excess Death Totals Weeks 1-17- All Ages: 2020- 831,679
Can someone explain how in the world, if we are in the midst of the equivalent of the Black Plague there are over 400,000 less deaths in 2020 than in 2018.
There is no amount of "social distancing" or fewer cars on the street or the wearing of masks or...that can account for a full reduction in total excess deaths of a full 33%.
Anyone want to try to explain this?
Facts do matter.
Selfishness is the worst thing that can happen to any human being.People do this for their own benefit. But that's not right.
Have we been able to prove if Facts Matter and Bad Wigins and Allen53 are the same account/poster?

Definitely different. Allen53 keeps linking to weird conspiracy sites and acting like that proves his argument. Bad Wigins links to weird central European conspiracy sites and acts like that proves his argument, and has failed basic math. Facts Matter tries to stay grounded in plausible facts, but thinks failing 6th grade math and biology has somehow proved his argument.

And people like authentic info provide no argument.
As an exercise in self-torture, I went and looked up the actual numbers and found out that Allen53 is simply lying about the numbers. That's point 1.
Furthermore, comparing the first 7-8 weeks of the years is dumb because as of Feb 21, there were only 47 cases in Europe. That's point 2.
In conclusion, my explanation for Allen53 Excess Death totals data is: he is a liar who doesn't understand the basics of the linear flow of time.
I think that covers it.

Because acting normal increased risk. More cars driving around, all that.
In this case, we aren't do all that. We're just dying because of a pandemic.
Had we done nothing, you could add the regular death rate to the pandemic death rate, and that would be a much higher number.

Yes that recent Allen35 post was absolutely painful.
If you cram enough numbers, spelling errors, and wild jumps to conclusions into one post, no one will read it and thus... no one will disagree.
He's a genius.

You two are showing special reading skills. Allen53's post said the first 17 weeks, not 7, you both missed that, then doubled down based on that erroneous reading. Also, is it supposed to be good as gold that, the ironically handled can't count, said he looked up the actual numbers but did not provide a link (nor did Allen53)?
The rest of Can't count's response is hard to read and incoherent, except for those special few like Corona, that drink at the alter of hoping more people die from COVID. Perhaps have Jesse proofread for you, he can do that while he waits for Boris to die.
Personally, I'm hoping the IFR is in the .1-.36% like has been published, that would be good news for all of us, except for the death cult I guess.
OPERATION COVID DOES NOT ALLOW ANY TYPE OF VIRAL COMPETITION.
If we test for ALL THE SEASONAL FLU VIRUS
and if just ONE comes POSITIVE then... we would have a really hard time explaining why was RNA "SARS-CoV-2" the cause of infection and/or death and not the other one (or more than one!).
That's why THEY need tests JUST FOR RNA "SARS-CoV-2"!
And about the testing... It's like the Lottery!
wonderful science!

Not so good at the reading comprehension, eh? My point was that the first 7-8 weeks of the 17 is a bad basis for comparison because it was pre-coronavirus. So, don't jump to conclusions based on your own misreadings, mmkay?
https://www.euromomo.eu/graphs-and-maps/159,484 excess deaths after 17 weeks of 2020.
111,335 excess deaths after 17 weeks of 2018.
Allen53 lied.

Which words or phrases gave you trouble, chief? I can try to keep it to 1 or 2-syllable words in the future so it doesn't strain you.

[b]....something like 61K in two months? Or what about 2,600?
But do you now want even more than 61K people dead just so that people do not commit the criminal and social acts you describe? Where is personal responsibility.
Not sure what you are trying to say with your first two comments??
You are going to always have people dying, it's a fact of life. You CAN NOT shelter everyone from death. Life has risks.[/quote]
The first part is a throwaway comment to indicate that any number is a bad number.
The point about a lock down or not is that with good management you will never know in hindsight whether too much has been done, but with bad management you will know that you did too little.
This is why the debates are circular.
However, if you want to speculate now about domestic crimes and self abuse going up, what about general crime and road tolls going down, just to name two.
We know how many people have died even with a lock down, much greater than was speculated by OP without a lock-down.
We can also draw conclusions given the effect of the lock down on other infectious diseases (eg flu), to what magnitude the numbers could have been higher.

You've seen the proof a million times over that the vast majority of "covid-19 deaths" are really deaths from some other condition, often without even a positive covid-19 test. It's nobody's job to keep fetching it for you just because you insist on ignoring it. Entirely reasonable to have done with it and just call you a liar.

Yeah...just ( a flesh wound) the flu
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/29/nyregion/bodies-brooklyn-funeral-home-coronavirus.htmlI think everybody has long tired from your stupidity...were you dropped on your head as a kid?
Everybody in the world, more than 180 countries are supposedly colluding on this Covid19 conspiracy, even Donald Trump...if they would only listen to Mad Wiggins et al.
Countries are even trying to investigate and sue China for this flu virus

So you can just say so and it's so? It doesn't work that way. By now, everyone agrees that the death toll will be nowhere near what you and your alarmists predicted. The only question now is why. The true goalpost movers that will never admit being wrong will say it's the social distancing. Others with common sense will tell you that it's the natural mortality of the virus. No one here wants to admit the latter because they would have to admit they were wrong. If the true mortality rate turns out to be 0.1%, how are you going to explain that social distancing is what saved all the lives? That's not how it works.
Consider this data from the 3 airports that serve the SF Bay Area:
First death in California Bay Area in early February
Virus was spreading in January February and March with no lockdown or social distancing
1.5 million people arrived by Plane at SFO in January Domestically - No mask or protection
1.4 million people departed SFO in January to domestic locations - No mask or protection
637,000 people arrived at SFO in January from international cities - No mask or protection
1.8 million people arrived by plane at SFO in February domestically - No mask or protection
1.8 people left SFO in February to domestic locations - No mask or protection
1.4 million arrived in February from international cities - No mask or protection
930,000 people arrived in March at SFO from domestic locations - No mask or protection
930,000 left SFO in March to domestic locations - No mask or protection
From January 1 to the lockdown from Trump on incoming China travel, 390,000 traveled from China to SFO - No mask or protection
More than 1 million people traveled through SJC in January - No mask or protection
More than 1 million people traveled through SJC in February - No mask or protection
More than 1 million people traveled through OAK in January - No mask or protection
More than 1 million people traveled through OAK in February - No mask or protection
452,000 people traveled trough OAK in March - No mask or protection
... but social distancing starting March 19 has magically stopped the virus.
There are about 100 more reasons that the social distancing story falls apart, but you are not going to listen to them anyway, you'e just going to post 61,001 or 2600 or something stupid so you don't actually have to address the facts. What are you going to say when the antibody testing proves that tens of millions of Americans have already been infected?

Well, he had a blood blot and didn't have CV19.
Hope that helps explain it!
