This may come as a shock, but most people posting on this thread don't actually know anything. The thread implies college coaches are involved with a lot of the rumors but more than likely it's random people making stuff up. That's why they suggest the same 5 people for every job, they don't actually know any other coaches and aren't that connected.

This has been happening since the beginning of LRC. 20-25 years ago, the names we heard for every distance job was:

I believe you are correct that many people who actually comment on these threads are not college coaches and not connected.
It may be that the large # of upvotes of your observation are from college coaches or those closely connected, agreeing that posters are not coaches nor connected.
I do believe a significant # of college coaches read the posts, but most are savvy to either (a) not comment and/or (b) keep information confidential either out of loyalty/integrity or using that confidential information for their potential gain.
