if for whatever reason rocky mountain gets third bid (after the two southwest bids), then fourth bid will go to crater. Rocky Mountain resume is holding back crater from a bid it sounds like.

Crater’s bad race on Saturday is what is holding them back from a bid, no one else.
Downers Grove North absolutely destroyed the Midwest region again. And their 4th-7th were seniors who were never on varsity until this year.
Rockhurst is the first Missouri team to make NXN in a long time.
Plainfield North took 3rd but they didn’t beat any autoqualifiers or potential autoqualifiers this season. So same resume as Rocky Mountain. Rocky Mountain probably has a better chance than them because Northwest seems deeper

Rockhurst is the 2nd MO team to qualify for NXN. Potosi qualified in 2006 when it was still NTN.
At that time, MO was in the Heartland region and there were not regional meets. The top 2 ranked teams in the region advanced.
Potosi placed 8th with their top guy finishing as their 3rd runner after having been sick.
Rockhurst is an all boys private school in KCMO. The school is located on state line rd. which is the KS/MO state line. Many of their students actually live in KS.
What are the chances Rocky Mountain gets a berth would you say?
Right now it looks like ~60%. If say the Southeast or Northeast turn out to be most competitive than most of us expect, it's probably going to lower to 30 or 40%.

Yeah that looks about right. I don't see a third team from the Northeast being competitive for a spot, but not sure about the Southeast. So assuming the Southwest gets 2, then that leaves 2 spots for the Northwest teams (Rocky Mountain ID and Crater OR), Midwest teams (Plainsfield North IL), South teams (whoever doesn't get second between Bentonville AR, Austin Vandegrift TX and potentially Jesuit LA), the #3/4 California teams, and potentially a Southeast team or two.
