Saw Bonnie Raitt and her band in 1979, Lowell George and Little Feat the year before, and John Hammond 10 years ago. Here they are, all together. Boy, has she got a voice!
And btw, that Little Feat show was maybe the best live act I've seen.
Hey, Deno, I know we've marvelled at this guy before, but I just can't get over what an amazing talent this guy is. And how sad that he has left us too soon.

Two days later I had his firsr CD "Lead Me On". Yep, totally sold on the guy, what an amazing talent, and what a shame he's gone.
I first saw him in 2001 at an outdoor Zoo concert in Seattle Zoo, and he was the lead act before Leo Kottke. We had never heard of him before that, but I was very impressed. Then, we made the effort to see him again in about 2018 at a small club just a little drive from here.
At that time, I noticed his touring schedule was absolutely ridiculously packed. It struck me as odd, but I didn't think anything of it. Shortly thereafter he had to quit playing as a result of ulnar neuropathy in his right hand. A few years passed and then in 2022 we got the sad news of his passing.
So, in retrospect, I bet he knew about his ulnar neuropathy diagnosis and was going on a huge tour in order to amass some funds on which to live out the rest of his life.
I can't find what he died of, though that nerve disorder is common with diabletics. Everything written about him says he just died peacefully in his sleep at his home.
He was not only technically amazing, his renditions were astoundingly creative and interpretive. There just has never been anyone quite like him.

Yep, that word.....unique....a perfect fit for him, totally....different.
Guess the only one that kinda fits if mixing is Ry Cooder, maybe the young Tom Waits, ah....sorta.
That CD...."Lead Me On".....a must have.
i didn't know about his problems you mentioned, that's why it;s cool having you around, I learn things, was thinking those days were over, guess not,,
