New video out. Tagline is that David Roche had hit rock bottom.
Did he have cancer, did his wife have a miscarriage, did he lose a job, home get foreclosed, lose a lot of money from identity theft ... no. He hit rock bottom when he quit a race because he wasn't going to be able to win. What a beta male.
"Cody Bare’s Nothing To Lose plays less like a 'race recap' and more like a Wenders road movie. Think Paris, Texas with Robby Müller skies, except the wanderer finds his restoration at mile 100, rather than in a desert bar.
If Breakable was defined by fear and fracture, Nothing To Lose is about care, courage, and individuation. Megan is everywhere in the film: less 'support crew' than midwife of David’s second self. When she paces him through the last 20 miles, it’s almost archetypal. A passage from anxiety to earned contentment.
The closing shot—grass, champagne, flowers, trophy casually left on the ground—lands with the quiet holiness of Jayanta Mahapatra: everyday objects luminous because they survived the journey. Then Mary Oliver’s I Worried scrolls against the mountains, which feels both inevitable and unexpectedly moving.
If you want cynicism or gotcha details, you’ll be disappointed. The film is more interested in the texture of redemption than in litigating mile splits. Which, of course, will only make the chorus here yell louder about 'inauthenticity.' But maybe the joke is that this kind of authenticity—ordinary joy after extraordinary trial—can’t be faked."

Someone said they thought David’s mom was writing these and I think there’s a good chance. David is into pop punk and pop everything else. He’s not really a literary type. And David’s parents attend his races so it would make sense that the bot was inactive. Whoever is writing this crap needs to diversify their style a bit. They use the same literary devices in every post.

Your logic doesn’t make sense. Ok if you beat Adam Peterman in 2025 you still aren’t a better runner fool. You’re another obsessed runner stuck in the parent’s basement obsessed with pornhub.
