I think something is off about Reddit and other major platforms. Independent message boards like this one are where free speech continues to thrive. The Internet used to be more like this until the corporations began to dominate over human interactions. Sometimes a cease and desist letter can backfire if the person receiving it chooses to share it publicly (Streisand Effect).

The guy rambles so much he is constantly contradicting himself. Classic lawyer stuff, say a little bit of everything so there is a sound bite to support it.

His training theory is just what he collects from Twitter/X. He showered praise all over some real exercise physiologists who are high-end coaches or do research, and then tapped them for their insights. That’s a fine thing to do, but he doesn’t give them credit. He will say one thing and if it ever turns out to be wrong, he pretends like he knew what was right all along and never said anything different. All of his insights just come from other people. There best stuff he has to offer can be bought/had simply by following the same people he follows on X/Threads/BlueSky. Or listen to any other podcast about endurance sports. Seriously. They are far more interesting and informative. Want a great place to start? Follow Jem Arnold, Stephen Seiler, Paul Laursen, Alan Couzans, or even Jason Koop.

It does sound like people here know a lot more about his content than me. I can't listen for very long unless it's an interview where the positivity is toned down a notch and the other person can keep things focused a bit on what's more interesting.
Adjusting data to be faster and blocking people who ask questions does sound deliberate.

Someone said that 20 mile run he ran at 5:54 pace was two hours and 1 minute? And that by using Strava he maybe only ran 19.5 miles?
That seems like nothing, but by doing that suddenly his 20 mile run at 5:54 pace becomes 19.5 miles at 6:13 pace.
That’s a difference of 20 seconds per mile merely by David tweaking things here and there

I do have a personal relationship with him and have experienced very different things than the people who hate him on the internet. There are lots of athletes and people in general who have had great experiences with him. Those ones just aren’t the ones posting on threads like this for the most part. It definitely sounds like we had very different experiences with him, but I think both of them are valid and real experiences.

If you truly believe different experiences with him are real and valid, then perhaps you shouldn't start off with phrasing it as "people who hate him on the internet." That frames it as though they are without reason when they criticize him or display dislike.
Some people here have known him for years, since before SWAP, and have observed and engaged with his behavior for a while. Unlikable personalities can be dismissed because you can ignore someone. But David is conning people for both fame and money. That's a problem. That's fine that you had/have a good experience with him. I think he can show up for certain athletes, and he can definitely put on a show for anyone who doesn't know him very well. But he's also avaricious, entitled, cut-throat, self-serving, and mean. He's a liar. Perhaps it all stems from insecurity, but that's not an excuse. He uses people. Potential athletes might like to know that.

There are people on here that not only dislike his online actions and content but also dislike him irl.

He's probably a great coach to Allie O. and his other elite stable of athletes with a large social media presence who can help promote him more. Also people in charge of his sponsorship deals like The Feed and any rando that he might high-five or tell that they are "So Awesome" and "So Amazing" on the trail or at an event. He tells everyone they are "The Best."
It's all the other athletes that he and Megan "coach" that they essentially con. And all the general humblebrags and manipulation of reality that the Roches project to the masses for more attention and power that is the issue.
The Roches are very high IQ people and talented athletes no doubt. But they are tricking a lot of gullible people in multiple ways. A lot of similarities to cult leaders imo.
The sad thing is they certainly don't need the money even.
