Not doubting this is a great hire, I just wanted to point out the interesting fact that he's listed as "throws/middle distance." That's an interesting combo!
I think the profile is being cut and pasted from multiple profiles as they are building it out, because Travis Hartke's email is still listed on his profile!
The school has not actually announced anything yet. I was reading the thread and the person who hinted at the initials got me googling, and completely came across his profile on accident. Thought it was his old one from when he was an assistant before at first, but then saw the bio where he is being announced today at some point
So basically Boise State decided to stay irrelevant. Makes sense, be average, hire average, expect average. There isn't a college coach in the US worried about Boise State now. If they wanted to stay in this zone, they could have just kept Ihmels.

Were you expecting a return to the Top 25 finishes at Nationals that Maynard had during the mid to late 2000's? You need balance with a few heavy hitters to do that, and being distance heavy won't do it. If you remember, Maynard had Petros on his staff!!! He was the one who brought him into D-I coaching!
Excellent hire, he’s proven more than capable of working with multiple event groups, and has elevated quite a few to achieve high levels of competition. He has a great philosophy that enables people to buy into his coaching style.
