I get you but I think the underlying issue is people are trying to be famous to get out of their crappy 9 to 5 jobs and open doors...
If you’re a slow hobby jogger who regularly gets chicked by other slow, hobby joggers, maybe running isn’t your thing and you shouldn’t be making videos singing your own praises.
I get your post about the instagrammers needing to do something better and to quit bragging, but being chicked isn't an embarrassment. There are tons of women in the 2:35-3:20 bracket...no shame in losing to them, as they are very talented.
If you think trying to break into social media and making running videos as an income is more productive and opening more doors than working a boring 9-5 over the age of 40 then there might be some reassessing to do.
Some people want to do it as a full time job, which is dumb (unless you have the connections and capital), but as a side hustle on top of a 9-to-5 it doesn't sound so bad.
Yowana just posted the most anti-STCJ world major marathon shakeout ever. Starts about 15:00 minutes in.
Is this for real? I made it like 45 seconds. It starts with him aiming his camera around outside, he went to the top of the "sears building" when he was younger, didn't go to trader joes yesterday, but did get some coffee that will probably be horrible.

Best of luck on your next venture. Rest assured, running influencer pioneer Sage Canaday will still be pumping out running/musical interpretive dance content or another two or three decades.

wtf?
and what does STCJ mean?
STCJ is an acronym for when a shoe/apparel company flies a group of shoetubers to a race and sponsors a shakeout or series of shakeouts with swag and food/coffee/beer. This allows the shoetubers to film the event and say that 200 people showed up to THEIR shakeout run.
I think the point of the post was that Yowana just went on a shakeout run by himself.

I think we understood that STCJ is an acronym. If I'm not mistaken, I believe the question is what the fug does it stand for?

2:19:31 for Matt Fox ran on pure hate, beating Nick Bester's recent sub2:20 by 14secs Love the thought of Bester's head exploding somewhere in Winchester right now.
$10 says Fox gets a stress fracture before March. Man has lost way to much weight from (openly) restricting foods.
so just to recap:
Matt finally breaks 2:20 by getting outside assistance from people passing him gels along the course... he then does 2x IG posts about the result; the first he (within 3 sentences) starts talking about how he should be 'minutes quicker', the second post is him comparing how he did relative to the top female athlete. And who does he thank for helping him toward this achievement - his sponsors? his (various) Coaches? his training partners he's ran with in so many locations? no, just his wife and his mom.
Just stumbled upon this today. Looks like a relatively new channel. Enjoyed this video. Don’t know the guy but a quick search to see he’s a sub 4 min miler and former Ole Miss athlete.
