This thread was deleted by a volunteer moderator. I certainly don't want a thread this big deleted so I've restored. THat being said, this thread has served it's purpose. I've closed it to new posts.
We have a new 2024 vaccine thread here. New people don't need to try to wade through 20,000 posts to figure out what is going on.
One of the biggest grift scams ever perpetrated on an entire population was the Covid money grab. If one third of Covid money was used to push better diet, nutrition, and physical and mental health for Americans many lives would have been saved. The people who can’t see this are the psychos.
Rofl mic drop. And the OP promptly exits the thread
Do you really expect people to believe these studies any more?
It's become clear by this point that folks aren't above actually falsify results. It took, what, 8 million dollars in NIH money for Fauci to get a paper with the results he wanted about whether Covid could have come from a lab.
I glanced through the paper. Figure 3 shows the Florida death rate being no different between political parties, it was only Ohio (it also shows ages 65-74 with a lower death rate, both states, for republicans). No speculation as to why the different results (for either the state or different age groupings) that I saw at a first glance.
So I'll throw out my reason for that, Florida's voter roles are a lot cleaner than Ohio's. Registered voters that don't exist can't actually die.
“Everything I don’t agree with is fraud or made up” is a great way to get people to listen to you.
Overall, the excess death rate for Republican voters was 2.8 percentage points, or 15%, higher than the excess death rate for Democratic voters (95% prediction interval [PI], 1.6-3.7 percentage points). After May 1, 2021, when vaccines were available to all adults, the excess death rate gap between Republican and Democratic voters widened from −0.9 percentage point (95% PI, −2.5 to 0.3 percentage points) to 7.7 percentage points (95% PI, 6.0-9.3 percentage points) in the adjusted analysis; the excess death rate among Republican voters was 43% higher than the excess death rate among Democratic voters. The gap in excess death rates between Republican and Democratic voters was larger in counties with lower vaccination rates and was primarily noted in voters residing in Ohio.

Has there been a similar analysis of Utan Republicans ?
Has there been a similar analysis of Utan Republicans ?
Thought so.
It would be an interesting case. A lot of Utah Republicans were consistently getting strong pro-vaccine messages from both their governor and religious leaders, fortunately. As of October 2021, around half of Utah's lower rate of excess death could be explained by demographic factors, leaving half to be explained by something else. If the political and religious leaders of other red states had supported vaccination as strongly, think how many more lives could have been saved in the U.S. Tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands?

As a bit of a data nerd it saddens me, but if we're being honest, I no longer expect persons to be convinced by clear and overwhelming data showing that they are talking nonsense.
If this thread has served no other purpose, it shows how good people can be at rationalizing irrational beliefs in spite of the body of contrary evidence.
This realization is not going to stop me from calling out BS when I see fit, but I don't have high expectations of convincing anyone who is determined not to be convinced.

How do you explain the much lower Covid death rate in lowly jabb'ed nations as compared to that rate in highly jabb'ed nations?
How do you explain the much lower Covid death rate in lowly jabb'ed nations as compared to that rate in highly jabb'ed nations?
They do not answer your question because if they reply that those countries have a lower median age, then it destroys their insane policy of attempting to give multiple vax doses to everyone regardless of age.

They’re younger and less obese, more active with less comorbidities. But you both know the answer, since you answered it yourself.
Vaccines aren’t only supposed to ‘prevent death’. Chickenpox doesn’t kill that many children worldwide, but it does cause significant disability. A vaccine takes care of that.
Heres an example from the military. 500000 infections in active duty personnel x 7 days of minimum isolation for each one who’s sick= 3.5 million days of lost active duty service. That impacts military readiness. A vaccine that’s 80% effective decreases that to 700K days only. Even if ‘they’re not high risk of death’.
Same applies in the healthcare industry. A lot of nurses and MDs taking sick days in the middle of a pandemic isn’t ‘good policy’ because ‘I don’t think I’ll die of Covid’.
Now that the pandemics over, the mandates are all gone. But you can go back to your YouTube videos telling you fascism is around the corner and 9/11 was an inside job.

I guess you're right about it being over. If the lunatics in New Zealand have finally returned to normal, then the world must be in the clear.
New Zealand's government will lift all remaining COVID-19 requirements from midnight Tuesday, bringing an end to some of the toughest COVID-19 pandemic rules in the world more than three years after they were put in place.

I have answered this so so so many times. Population differences do have an enormous impact on COVID deaths:
The economist has tried to correct for this with adjusted metrics
Please read the "age distribution" section here, Unkle before posting again:
Excess mortality has become a key metric to understand the true impact of the Coronavirus pandemic. But how is excess mortality measured; and what can we learn from cross-country comparisons? Janine Aron and John Muellbauer p...
DanM I think you are just stupid? Not actually malicious/trolling?
1) Vaccines are still a net benefit for all age groups - you (and your antivax ilk) have failed to provide any evidence otherwise. They reduce chance of death but also every other negative metric like chance of hospitalization and severity of disease for EVERYONE. That means: workers miss fewer days; teachers miss fewer days; kids are in school more... you know all the stuff you claim to care about.
2) Why not as good as against the original variant, vaccines do seem to slightly lower transmission and window of transmission, so another why getting the vaccine even if you wont die from COVID is good.
The only bad outcome is not DEATH. There are so many other reasons why vaccination is smart.
Oh and for the 900th time. "Multiple doses" is meaningless you moron, the vast majority of vaccine on planet require > 1 dose and many require 3+. This isn't new. WTF is wrong with you, why do you keep spamming this point?

Sweden had considerably fewer excess deaths than the USA or UK. The highest excess death rates were in Russia and former SSRs. This is likely due to nationalization of vaccines and alcohol consumption.
Employers everywhere begging sacked former employees to come back.
*******
The Coast Guard has launched a team to help Coast Guard members who separated due to the Coast Guard’s former COVID-19 vaccination mandate.
The Return2Service Team (R2ST) is the single point of contact for active duty and reserve members who separated - either voluntarily or involuntarily – and now want to return.
Who’s Eligible? Eligible members are those who were involuntarily separated solely due to noncompliance with the COVID-19 vaccine mandate and received a reenlistment code of RE-3, or who voluntarily separated between Aug. 26, 2021, and Jan. 11, 2023, in lieu of complying with the vaccine mandate and received a reenlistment code of RE-1 or RE-3. In addition, a member must be within two years of their separation date.

“I don’t like what the study says so I’m going to pretend it was made up”
Given that we know 1) the vaccine works very well against severe disease and 2) vaccine uptake was greatly influenced by politics… why are you so recalcitrant to the idea?

Great post. A lot of these GOPers pretend to care about military readiness, but I guess that doesn’t include being sick with COVID.
These posts that attempt an age-normalized (hello Unkle) excess death analysis for Sweden vs other countries are extremely damning of the "Swedish method."
#Sweden cumulative pandemic excess mortality estimates in context of European regions.....

That's BS in any event. Grasping at straws. The massive difference in Covid fatality rate between highly jabb'ed and lowly jabb'ed nations cannot be explained away by throwing that out. There is a massive difference at every age range.

Of course the official story of 911 is complete nonsense.
The Patriot Act was a massive assault on our rights and was sitting on the shelf and then taken down and voted in days after 911.
Covid was the next shoe to drop with even more of our right taken away. About 18 years after 911. Vaccine Passports infrastructure has not gone away.
The bosses will make their next big move soon enuff...are not going to wait 18 years
