What do you think will happen now that the Department of Education is gone? I hope states will still take care of the kids in special education, this is not the same as USAID or the horrible east coast liberals paid for by the NIH.

Got a soft spot for the retarded? Turn in your MAGA hat,
Why did US reduce the Department of Education? Most Americans got way to little education. Plumbers and janitors should hold bachelor degrees as well as everyone else. It helps people to think critically. Look at the cops as an example. In Norway every cop holds a bachelor degree. We never have cops shooting people not shooting at them. We don't even have them carry guns at most times.

The idea is that many right wingers in america think education should be designed locally. Meaning Michigan should be able to design its own curriculum, different from Mississippi. That the federal government has no business telling the states what should go on in the classroom.
Which is mostly code for: trumplandia wants to teach more about Christianity and a positive view of American history while rich America wants to keep religion out of the classroom and teach some of the negative aspects of US history.
There is also a good amount of racial animosity in the decision. Right wingers don't want anyone from DC telling them how to deal with African Americans in the schools.

There is no journalism any longer - blame online reporting for reducing the bar. It used to be presenting a impartial perspective to allow the individual reader to make their assessment. On EITHER side of the aisle that no longer happens. the basic tone of an article can be gleaned just knowing the source/publisher of an article, before it is even read. The right is probably worse than the left, but both are surprisingly dishonest these days. Misinformation and disinformation are the rules of the day, there is precious little integrity anymore. Sites like this one just reinforce this reality. It is not going to come back either.
nope. read the NYT, WSJ, AP, WaPo and few others. Solid, good journalism. No dishonesty on purpose anyway there. You are wrong.
People love to say there is left wing dishonesty or lying in the main newspapers BUT THEY CAN NEVER SHOW IT.
Only one news source fair and balanced and it ain't any of those.
Let's check in on how the new American Golden Age is panning out, shall we?
US Bonds: -2% Gold: -2% S&P 500: -9% Meta: -18%
Meh. Strong buy. Up 2000% since IPO day and when it dipped under $100 in 2022 the sky was supposedly falling but that was prime buying time. It worked out, this will to. Today is gym, lunch, and funsies. Border secure. Border/flight invasion of (mostly) Losers over. 55+ old white people, ugly women, will be protesting somewhere today, holding cute signs. Cash paid daily and a free sandwich. Losers!
When Biden used precisely the same stairs, it was seen (and reported) as evidence of his frailty, unfitness to serve, etc. With President Trump, the same media just give it a pass. Really shameful.
Well, it's possible that it's the same outcome for different reasons. Like, the long stairs can't handle so much stomping from Trump's his fat a**.
Beyond question! And the NYT, WP, et al., would have much harsher coverage and (particularly) headlines as well. Their normalizing and sanewashing of his outrages is a dereliction of their journalistic responsibility IMO.

It's "thinking" like this that goes a LONG way to explaining why Trump has been elected president twice. And why his approval rating isn't constantly <5%, where it should be.

Don’t hold your breath. Trump told his nephew to let his special needs kid die.
Fred Trump, former President Donald Trump’s nephew, details an exchange he says he had with his uncle after he requested financial help for his son’s extensive medical expenses.
