Maybe, don't quote me on this, Let's Run isn't the centre of their universe, and they are talking to someone more relevant to them, with larger local exposure. You could well be correct. Apparently, the end game was hoping to get a gig as a motivational speaker for WWTW. Going by the school video, though, I can't see that that would have ever come about, even if LeJog had been successful.

I have a bigger problem than Dave Reading with how shady WWTW is and how it spends donations on luxury trips and paying large salaries. We need to investigate it and out those a-hokes.

Shite Hawk, I take on board everything you've written, being ex-services too I also get all the military/special forces Walter Mitty stuff, there's lots of them around and Dave seems to have carried his fantasies over to the running world, ably assisted by Terrie.

Some questions:

1. You know the driver, so was the "family emergency" Terrie posted about bullshit?

2. Was the "shredded feet" Terrie posted about bullshit?

3. One article said he was in the Royal Anglian Regiment from age 19 to 40, seems to be true, what do you know about his time with RAR?

4. Daily Star Sunday Published 9th April 2017 says "Dave, who was discharged from service last December, will also be raising funds for the Royal Air Force Association.", I'm guessing this is referring to his RAF Reserve service, what do you know about his RAF Reserve service?, what did he do?

5. Can you elaborate on the "dodgy dealings with a car company"?

That's the funny thing - these very posts you are making are proving the statement that I agreed with to be correct.

He is not an "insider" but he does know a lot of the people involved, difference being he called BS at a very early stage.

1 Mrs Joe wanted him home. For obvious reasons. An "emergency", along with the shredded feet, gave DR the excuse to call it all off.

2 Clearly he hadn't trained either sufficiently, or as much as he was saying that he had, as his feet wouldn't have got shredded inside two days. Whether they were as shredded as made out, I know not, but I doubt it. His personal admin must have been shit to end up like that so soon from the start, if they were. PPPPPP, as we know.... :)

3 Don't know. Others have said he said he was in the RGJs, not RAR. I heard he was a vehicle mechanic, which with his subsequent civvy car company involvements, seems plausible, although it's REME who usually do that (or did in my day). Either way, I doubt much time was spent in hand-to-hand combat with the Taleban. There is absolutely no way he was ever 22. I have friends who were: they are in a whole different league and no one's heard of him. I'll be charitable and say that he applied. But he would never have passed Selection, the first Fan Dance alone would have done for him.

4 Army regs to RAFR seems a strange move to make. Not impossible, but unusual. With all the SF chatter that was emanating from him, I presumed he was bigging himself up as a Rock Ape and claiming SF by association (as Rocks are wont to do!), before the RAR service came out.

They are getting only negative advertising as a result of this. If they still believed that he had a shot at the WW then they would have posted a statement on FB. Instead they clensed their page of all LEJOG posts. They have to be pissed off right now.

They're certainly not too keen to be associated with Dave and / or his LEJoG WR attempt. Not a single reference can be found on their twitter page

I asked Mattressman if they donated the 5 grand and if they knew it was all a scam, and sent evidence he cheated London, and he just blocked me.

They have had plenty of opportunity to come out and say they were scammed too. The more quiet these people keep, the more guilty it makes them look, like THEY were involved too.

The driver and photographer were 100% in on it. No other explanation is possible.

WWTW is still listing Dave Reading as a hero......

Land’s End to John O’Groats Run

April 6 - April 15

Walking With The Wounded supporter Dave Reading is running from Lands End to John O’Groats in 8 1/2 days starting on 6th April 2017.

The 49 year old is undertaking the challenge to mark his 50th year, supported by his wife Terrie in a support vehicle, and intends to complete his fundraising by running the 2017 London Marathon 5 days later.

Dave, who is currently serving in the Royal Air Force, is an experienced marathon runner and is raising money for WWTW and The Royal Air Force Association.
