I was actually expecting something different with the Tech hire, but I think ol' Wes nailed it this time with the hire.
I actually remember Coach Thomas from his Sam Houston and TCU days, and I've always been impresse with his demeanor, recruiting, and results. I'm not a huge Tech fan, but I like the moves they are making out there.
So you are impressed with his last two hires? Can you educate us as to what James Thomas and Victor Houston have done? They do not appear to have done much at Kentucky and Alabama.
Hartlke is not leaving ISU. He has a good and secure gig there as long as Imhels is there

Oops, guess I didn't read the Letsrun message board rules. I guess you only need to validate your statements when they are positive and supportive. I took the time to take a quick glance at the top 10 lists that are on almost every college website these days and these hires do not impress me. But hey, I do not expect "ol' Wes" or anybody else to feel like they have to impress me.
I wish them all the best. My opinion is, on paper anyway, it is a very average hire when compared to what you had. Your opinion is that they 'nailed' this hire. I was simply curious whether or not you wished to help me understand why it was so great (maybe I have missed something?). You choose not to and I am fine with that. He is from Kansas and probably still has a lot of family there. Just because you are at D1 school doesnt mean that is the greatest job in the world. Lots of D3, NAIA, JUCO jobs out there that are good jobs. Its all about being where you want to live.
Looks like you guys will have to agree to disagree. It is clear that Txguy65 thinks Wes nailed it with this hire for a few reason he must know James Thomas very well, must really really like him, might be on the Tech Staff, or is James Thomas himself. It also appears LOL-Really was simply not impressed because he doesn't know much about James Thomas. So Txguy, why did Wes nail this hire and LOL-Really why do you think the last two hires are unimpressive?
