you missed the "appropriately reply" part, Sparky.
Let me spell it out for the dim-witted: even taking a view that posting treadmill workouts is somehow misleading (which I don't agree with but is the worst that can be argued here), David acknowledged that they don't translate to outside. So all you're left with is apparently he's not allowed to post TM workouts at all? That's absurd on its face. Time to move on.
- David is lying about his training
-He didn’t say that. We’ve already posted the quote here
LOL. Apparently I'm "obsessively" posting when I've come on roughly once per week to see what the latest accusations are and see if any have merit. None have.
But you have posted, what, 8 times since I posted earlier today. And now this high-intelligence "burn" has exposed you as the brain-dead, pimply-faced teenager that I figured you are.
Son, there's more to life than video games and posting falsehoods on the internet about some ultra-runner that you don't like. Get outside. Maybe try to talk to a girl. Go for a run.
Dumb question here but what's the point of "juicing" workouts on Strava? Is it to gain more street cred and hence more paying coaching clients? Is it to freak out opponents so hard that they bomb the next time they compete against him? Also who takes anything serious on Strava, it's full of fraud when it comes to stuff like FKTs and other challenges....
Race results or bust.
I agree. But.. narcissists need to feed their ego all the time.. they crave attention like normal humans crave water and food.

I've wondered how many people are editing their GPS data with tools like Digital EPO, but I still enjoy just doing the best I can on Strava segments and admiring some impressive times that I believe are legit. (At least in a GPS sense. Who knows what they might be using.)
Races with only in-competition testing are probably not really clean. The way to cheat is right there in the scientific papers, but we can't say for sure about an individual. In theory hemachromatosis raises hemoglobin naturally but not to the same degree as various forms of polycythemia.
who shakes their fist at the sky at the same time they're kicking their feet? are you gay?

"umm, no..." is a typical example of a Roche Stan. Probably a 50+ something "lawyer" who thinks he's "better" than the rest of us. But in reality lacks self confidence. Hence all the gaslighting and David worship. And insults.
So the fact of the matter is that he is an ignorant cult follower who enables David's lies and is seemingly lashing out at all the logical and intelligent posts on here. Posts that are telling of former SWAMP athletes experiences who have been burned by David, but many runners that have objectively seen through his BS. It honestly doesn't take that high of an IQ to recognize the patterns of deception, but apparently he just doesn't have it.
"umm, no..." you're simply wrong. You seem to live in a delusional version of reality. Go shake your fist at a cloud, [or orange sky] old man.

I would say there 5+ things he does repeatedly that are misleading at best, but can you guess why one would use their watch data on treadmill runs (expensive new treadmill btw) and use their phone app while wearing an expensive gps watch? It’s a head scratcher. I’ll wait the week or 10-14 days for you to answer.

I saw that he answered this on his recent 20 mile run at sub 6 pace. Maybe you can find the quote? It was something like he uses the phone outside so he can keep track of his kids and some other random reason for using his watch when on his treadmill

So he’s wearing a watch, but he can’t record a run with the watch on his wrist because he wants to monitor his kids. Makes perfect sense. He’s off the hook. I love him now. Huzzah.
Honestly I'm not sure there is some grand conspiracy here, but there is something so obnoxiously privileged about the fact that mommy and daddy paid for these two to become a doctor and a lawyer and they were like "thanks, but I'm going to pursue my calling as a trail running influencer/tiktoker or whatever." I'm not surprised if they're juicing their training stats for views but in the words of a true great, "c'mon now."
David Roche is in no way altering his strava or lying about his treadmill workouts. Is it that hard to believe that someone can be good at something and have the positive attitude and good graces to share it with the world? I’m helping thousands of people here with personalized coaching. And David calibrated the treadmill so that squashes that argument. I think the only people who would still be criticizing him at this point are jealous haters.

Thank god you came here and cleared up everything here for us! Thread officially closed.

He can obviously do a 20-mile run at sub 6 pace on a nice day around the Boulder Res and diagonal hwy. Any 14:45 5km kind of runner could do that.
However how about this as a case study: Did he actually do a 20-mile run at sub 6-min pace that day?
Take into account the total elapsed time (2:01+) and the fact that he intentionally used the Strava iPhone app and I'd say he could have gotten *an extra 0.5+ mile in distance* compared to his expensive wrist GPS Garmin which nearly all runners know is more accurate. Which apparently he just couldn't use outside. But of course does use when inside on a treadmill.
Objectively he probably did a 19.8 mile run at very slightly over 6:00-min per mile pace on that day. It's splitting hairs. Just like making your weight 10-15lbs lighter on Zwift is. Actually that is flat out cheating. But it all adds up.

So you think a 31:30 10k runner at sea level is running 6 x 1 mile at altitude averaging low 4:30s
There’s been people who have bested others on the western states course Strava segments. It didn’t mean anything on race day. Stop obsessing over the man’s Strava. Go for a run or smoke weed or get laid. This thread is the same thing over and over.
