Idk, the way Sadie made it out to be in one of her interviews (I think Clovis), it made seem like she isn’t on the team no more. There have also been rumors going around in the beginning of this thread that someone from the Ventura girls team transferred and True hasn’t been seen since Woodbridge. You just gotta tie two in two together

maybe it’s a confusion with the fact that the #1 Newbury Park girl transferred to Ventura, then ultimately decided to stay at Newbury Park.
I think their top 5 are saving their peak for the CIF state meet so that they can make NXN

Let's keep things in perspective, this is not the olympics. This is high school running, albeit at the elite level.
Per milestat, Melanie True ran 16:38 to finish 28th at Woodbrige for Ventura but appears to have not raced since then (I may have missed something). She's either been rested and/or injured. We should know more next Saturday and/or the following weekend.
Yeah I think the "short course" notation is just how milesplit categorizes results, e.g. for 2.95 or the old Mt Sac 2.93. Nothing in the official timing results. Pretty hard to mess up Crystal, the start / finish lines are permanent and you can't cut the course.
I think you’re underestimating Aydon Stefanopoulos. He has a 1600m time of 4:08 and remember when Liam Anderson won NXN with a 1600m time that fast? Now, I’m not saying Aydon is going to win NXN because the rest of the country has also gotten faster, but Liam Anderson ran a time of 14:57 at NXN, the same time he finished at the Clovis course where Stefanopoulos just ran 14:52.
Yes, their times are comparable.
But to compare 2024 to 2018 is a bit silly. Times have gotten incredibly faster (training, super shoes, etc etc.) The rest of the competition in those 2 years is not at all comparable.
Fitchen-Young vs. Holman in D4 could be the race of the day. Crystal usually runs 15ish seconds faster than Woodward, so 14:23 becomes 14:38ish. Willow Hills usually runs 30ish seconds slower, so Holman's 15:10 becomes 14:40 ish.
German Fernandez ran 15:00 at Willow Hills before going on to set the still standing course record at Woodward.
I'll have a front row seat. Surprisingly, we took 2nd with a FS heavy team, so we'll be in the race trying to stay out of the bottom 4-5.
Let’s also not forget about the slaughter house that will be the DII race. We individuals like Griffin Kushen, Trey Caldwell, Aydon Stefanopolous, and Tyler Dalliak. Coupled with teams like Jesuit, Glendora, and Matilda Torres.

Regarding individuals, I would add Yosef Berhan of Piedmont Hills (CSS) into the mix as well. He ran 15:09 at Woodward Park just earlier this year.
I’m just talking bout dudes who went sub 15. Berhan and Murillo are def guys to watch out for too- both league rivals and are close to each other in terms of times (Murillo running 15:12)

Best of luck - I was impressed by Hughson yesterday
