Who's sleeping? This forum knows how good they are. Consensus here seems to be that they're a clear #2 (Mason) until someone knocks them off. They've beaten Kilbourne, Coffman, Orange, Scioto, etc, etc, etc., and sometimes even done so without Gabelman.
Maybe pollsters? I mean, the are #4...
The pollsters don’t know what they are doing. they put Coffman ahead of Mason once
No they didn't. 11 first place votes for Mason that week. My guess is one voter inadvertently forgot Mason on their ballot and the math ended up favoring Coffman with only 1 first place vote. I agree Coffman is a bit overrated (WN should be #2), but to suggest pollsters "put them ahead of Mason" is not exactly true.
Coffman, Westerville N, Kilbourne, Scioto, and Lancaster.
This should be a great indicator so far this season (as long as Kilbourne decides to race and not run as a pack!) :) Are there any other good match-ups this weekend? It sounds like Mason varsity are off this weekend.
Well I suppose all is right in the world now. Mason #1 with 10 1st place votes. You can rest easy.
As far as this weekend... in addition to Lancaster's big showdown, there is the Celtic Clash (maybe a full 3.1 this year?), a big invite in Strongsville (Lakewood, Solon, Perrysburg, Mt. Gilead, Copley), and the Catholic school showdown at Cedarville (St X, Desales, St. Eds, Moeller, etc).
I doubt it was inadvertent. it’s obvious the coach who picked Coffman #1 didn’t even include Mason in his top 20. Is the Coffman coach one of the 12 pollsters?
Confirmed that the pollsters were sleeping on WN! I think that I'd put them as #1 in the state at this point just ahead of Mason who needs to figure out their #5 runner but it should be a fun post season! The state individual title will also be interesting to see how it plays out and if/how it affects the team race. Does someone go after it and blows up and hurt their team?
