He only started saying about all this love of the community and got any real commitment to the sport after hitting sub 3 in a massively, even for Floberg, sub optimal training block.
He honestly thought that after jumping from 3:00 to 2:40 in the space of a year his gains would continue at this speed. These were beginner gains after finally, after years of running, he got consistent.
Floberg will not continue to run or be consistent if the times aren't there. He seems to be running later in the day even now and I honestly think part of him now hates running because he can't actually see progress (even though the pretends or thinks he can)

This is absolutely unhinged. First off, he didn't become committed after breaking 3. It was moreso that becoming committed leads to breaking 3. And who are you to assume the guy hates running? What in the world does running later in the day have to do with anything? And its quite ridiculous to say that a guy who has run 2:32 lacks any understanding of training and pacing.

Correct. When I see most of these posts I wonder what world the people here are living in. Do they carry this anger into their everyday lives, or just save it for people they don't know on the internet? Either way it's very bizarre behavior for anyone looking in from the outside. And yes, we've all been on the internet long enough to know generally speaking it's an outlet for frustrations/disappointments people have in their own lives. So nothing new about what goes on here. He hasn’t because he’s pocketing $50-100k scamming people as their “run coach”. It’s despicable and he won’t acknowledge this even though he knows he’s grifting the community and making random fans waste their money. Flo charges $150 or so monthly to coach people and it’s not even personalized training. His fans are also the dunces for signing up with him, but Flo should be ashamed of himself. But in his mind he probably genuinely believes he’s worth $1200/yr per head because he’s “fostering a community”. Meanwhile, all his coachees would improve just as much following a standard training book to run their sub 3 or 4 hour marathon.
Must be quite tiresome for flowy to have to continue pimping his family out on camera, having to overdramatize your entire life and record all your running for theater to pull on heart strings of fans with low IQ, and pretending he really loves running when he can’t even achieve a 2:30 goal despite having no real life responsibilities or constraints. Look at his Strava history. His sub 3 build was not consistent and totally sub optimal.

Just to be clear, we all agree he's not training properly though?
IMO what he shows us is how you can have all these resources and work so hard and still get it wrong.
I'm 100% sure if you put sirpoc's brain in floberg's body and forced to live floberg's lifestyle outside of running, but the training is planned and performed by sirpoc, then 2:30 would have been broken in Fall 2024, or Spring 2025 at the latest, and he'd be sub 2:25 by now.
Though I used to criticize Jeff Cunningham, for all I know he is giving sound advice. Floberg has documented himself repeatedly straying from Cunningham's instructions. NSM is not his only way to improve. I've even said that John Davis would get Floberg out of his plateau (Davis, btw, is coaching Alec Blenis now. IDK if Blenis has been mentioned in this thread but he's yet another bodybuilder going after a sub 2:30).
As far as Floberg as a coach, I hate to say it, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's effective at helping completely clueless novices running 4 hour marathons down to low 3 / sub 3 marathons, at which point they can actually enjoy running, which isn't a bad thing. Like people learning to sing well enough to enjoy karaoke. A lifetime of improvement isn't necessarily the goal, though some go on to do that.
He can also dispense advice much better than he can set an example. His flaws aren't all lack of knowledge.
Ultimately, he's a very social, emotional, and hard-working guy. While all three of those traits can be used to get better, they can also hold you back. Currently he's on the wrong end of all three of them and he can't see it.
If this race goes poorly for him after he's made it unequivocally clear that he believes he can run sub 2:30 on Monday and he foresees no possible excuse for failing, I hope he finally makes some real progress in his post-race analysis. He does seem to at least try things (increasing mileage, speed block, strength training) to get those last few minutes. I'm sure he'll plan to attempt some kind of adjustment going forward, either mentally or in his training.
Hardest Geezer ran a 5k in 17 mins today in what looked like a hard effort. Probably in around 2:42 shape, but will pace for 2:35, so likely finish around 2:48? It's all so predictable!
