People have said come on their channel and they'll promote the book. I'm not even comfortable with that. One person even said they will help "shill" the book for me. That's just not me. I felt bad even producing a book and charging for it, but ultimately it was really the only way to control the spread of misinformation of things I had apparently said.

A few brands have asked me to help promote or push stuff. Again, red flags here are that the message is usually "keep all comments positive, it's better for brand engagement" - but I couldn't live with myself promoting something I know is dog s**t. Times are tight enough as it is for a lot of people out there.

Anyway, I'm off back to the NSM thread to continue my mission of turning lexel into a baby-face.

I think people respect your openness and honesty. Let's be clear, NSM the book is one of the best training books there is. I was astonished at how detailed and informative some of it was. I don't think there is any harm in you promoting that rather than pushing it. You have changed the fortunes of a lot of people, maybe you don't even realise that?

FOD is a smart guy. I wouldn't be surprised if your episode has more plays than Fenton despite him having a wide audience. Most pods you are on attract more than the usual amount of plays and views.

On the flip side, I imagine it is annoying at times. I am also on the football cliches Reddit page like you and yet people still find you there and ask you questions about training lol

On treadmill so who knows what the hell the paces actually are, but a real headscratcher from the geniuses at Runna - less than 2 weeks out from London and hes doing a ton of what is basically mile pace stuff?

His training is bonkers, and he never even seems to address or understand what the point of the workout is.

In his recent podcasts and videos he seems to be obsessed with the idea of a "indicator session" which for him apparently was his 3x6k at MP. He kept asking Alifie about it and has mentioned it a few times in the videos. I am not sure who's fed him this idea that you can run less than a half marathon as a session at MP and somehow that indicates your fitness for a marathon a month out? Possibly some Runna slop.

You get to know your fitness level by how you feel based on months / years worth of training and racing not by doing an AI session round a flat loop in a park and then extrapolating you can run that for over double the distance with no rest.

On the same pod Alfie mentioned the LetsRun podcast and Gottard responded saying "I never knew they had a podcast I know is a Reddit group" so he doesn't know the existence of LetsRun..

He also said that Albert Korir is the brother of John Korir when he isn't.. Until today he couldn't function that most of these Kenyan athletes have similar/identical last names..

He hasn't got a clue of what he is talking about let alone about his workouts and fitness..

You and Bester have done a lot for the running community. Especially in the 35+ age category. Both your training advice (despite being very different) have been improving ‘hobby joggers’ times.

Your rivalry is also one of the few great match ups in a sport which lacks in this category compared to other sports. We have ManUtd, Liverpool. Barca, Madrid. Celtic, Rangers in football. Bester-Poc and Ingerbritsen-Kerr in the running world.

I don’t think it’s hyperbole to say you guys are the new Coe-Ovett.

You seem to have the edge in the heat. Whilst big Nick has it in the wind.
