Word is starting to get out that Devin Nunes and Tulsi Gabbard are feeding Trump lies about Zelensky in order to turn Trump against him. Zelensky had been very careful to maintain as good a relationship with Trump as possible since the impeachment over Trump's attempt to link aid to Ukraine with Zelensky giving Trump dirt over Hunter Biden. Back during the impeachment, Zelensky said there was no pressure from Trump or his admin over giving them dirt on Hunter Biden. This was a big blow to the Dems' impeachment campaign and resulted in an easy trial for Trump in the Senate. Zelensky met with Trump when he came to the US during the tail end of the 2024 election campaign. Zelensky was one of the first to call Trump after the assassination attempt and was quick to congratulate Trump on his 2024 win.
There is now growing concern that Nunes and Gabbard are feeding Trump lies about Zelensky. Trump is being told that Zelensky will not give up Kursk under any circumstances, that Russia has been trying to stop the fighting but every time they do, Zelensky attacks, and Zelensky wants to be like Hitler and conquer more of Russia and kill as many Russians as he can. Trump is also not being told that Putin is refusing any ceasefire unless all of Russia's demands are met. Those include territorial concession that basically give Putin all of Donbas and Kherson, disarming Ukraine, no security guarantees and no peacekeepers. In other words, Putin is the one who is not willing to negotiate, but Nunes and Gabbard have turned Trump on Zelensky by making it seem like Zelensky is the one who will not negotiate and is hell bent on war with Russia. Thus, Trump's "pause" of aid to Ukraine is just part of a plan to force Ukraine into complete capitulation to Putin's demands because Gabbard and Nunes know that Putin will not compromise.
