Hypothetical Budget: Before
Total Budget: $1,000,000
Health Care: $207,000 (your 20.7%)
Education: $230,000 (23.0%)
Hypothetical Budget: After
Total Budget: $1,243,000 (Added $243,000 coming from the feds for expanded medicaid)
Health Care: $450,000 (your 36.2%)
Education: $230,000 (18.5%)
Note that there has been zero change in the funding of education. It is simply a case of the percentage of total budget dropping because of added federal dollars for the medicaid expansion.
