There is no elite coach in the country who is a phenomenal coach at more than one, MAYBE two event groups. This isn't high school. PROFESSIONAL coaches are specialized. They learn the ins-and-outs of their event. That's why they get paid for it and you don't.

You apparently have never heard of Boo Shexnayder.

Good coaches are good teachers. They can teach anything they understand. The best coaches are not specialists in certain events, they understand physics, biomechanics and teaching methods.

Dan Pfaff has coached high level athletes in every event, even had a national champ in the 10k. Tom Tellez, Dan Pfaff, Boo Schexnayder can all coach whatever they choose to do. Tellez coached sprints, every jump, every throw, and was a good swim coach too.

Yeah Gauson is a great guy and coach. That's ridiculous that you say "hes not a coach if he can't adjust and coach any event.". You sound like a jealous whinny little bitch. Lay off already. Give the guy a break and some time to prove himself.

Dear "can't you read", Langley has been on staff coaching horizontals. Coach Craddock coached the HJ and multis, which leaves a spot open. Who is going to take over that group?

Dan Flaute was fired a couple months ago. The position was part-time then and will continue to be now. If running was a big consideration in the choice of the school, I would strongly consider looking elsewhere as XU doesn't put that many resources toward CC/Track. To think that a D1 program would have only a part time coach as their Head Coach is laughable, but they know that somebody will line up to do it. I guess it's hard for people to fathom someone just taking over event areas. He had decathletes at Clemson go to nats, and I believe coached the high jump there. I'd assume he was learning from Craddock too so wouldn't be too hard to assume he could easily take over
