Ok, they're predictions. At least I'm not like the college football morons taking Louisville as a national title contender before the season. Even though I love LHU and there might be bias. It is a fact, Russell can coach and Shawn, Jed, Bell, those guys are 10k runners which plays to their advantage here. I won't rip on anyone, but I can see a few guys bombing, some from the top teams.

The real sad news here is Chris Cowan will not be in town for Regionals. I know a lot of people wanted to see him but he has to work. I am extremely pissed, but oh well, life goes on...and I'm glad we're getting some good regionals chatter!

I will finish 68th.

Physically, whats done is done for all the rnners at this point. Mentally, I think it wold be better for slippery rockto win the region, i dont think it matters as mch to edinboro b/c watts has been there so many times and his runners know that.

all that said i still think boro will win regionals with slippery rock only losing b/c of thier fifth guy

Regional Picks:

1.Boro-Team looks very strong, I see Rock coming close to them but not enough in the end.

2.Rock-Solid second place finish for this team.

3.Ship-Even though they lost to haven by 29pts i see this teams' 4 and 5 guys stepping it up over the longer distances beating out havens 4 and 5.

4.Haven-They started out strong at PSACs but faded towards the end, I fear a longer race is going to hurt them as they will fade to 4th place.

5.Concord-Don't know too much about this team besides the fact that they won their confrence meet. I like them as a darkhorse team since we dont know much about them.

6.Bloom-A good 1-4 for this team but their 5th man hurts the team. Their 5th man though is better then the other school's below bloom.

7.ESU-They have a good top 3, but after that it drops off a lot and still a young team.

8.Mansfield-This team could finish as high as 5th in my mind but I dont see that happening after their debacal at PSACs. Need a lot of help from their 4,5 guys if they want to do well.

9.Cal-I like this team, I see them moving up next year with the return of Chris Clark. They have a fairly tight 3-5 guys they just need to move up places if they want to finish higher as a team.

10.Kutztown-After their top 2 there is not much left on their team.

Hmmmm...you really think that the conference champion is going to drop to #9? I talked about him not doing what he did last week, but I was thinking finishing like 4th or 5th. I doubt there's ever been a case where the PSAC champ finished 9th at Regionals in cross...but, I'll have to look into that.Hoovis

I don't remember anyone saying that the PSAC was better than the RMAC...the RMAC is a better conference, we know it and you know it. If I were an RMAC runner I would probably be angry if edinboro and slippery rock bring back 2 extra bids for the region next year, because i doubt that the 4th team in the east will be better than the first team (5th or 6th overall) to not qualify for nationals out of their region. Could you imagine if the east had 4 teams going this year??? The 4th team would be contending for DFL. Good luck to all of you this weekend, and more good luck to the boro and rock at nationals it represent us well.(I know it is not decided yet but it would be a huge upset if one of them did not make it.)

Yes I realize after I posted that I might have put Bluman a little too far down in the top ten. Although I do think he ran the race of his life last weekend. I could see him getting 6th or 7th at regionals...

i agree with hoovis and dirt about haven. i'm sure they'll run well on their home course and put themselves in position to take advantage if either boro or sru stumbles. they've got nothing to lose, so running for 3rd doesn't make sense. ship could take advantage and snag 3rd if lock haven falls apart going after a top 2 finish. haven shouldn't sniff nationals this year, but funny things can happen over 10k in november. a couple guys get sick, someone falls, a couple guys have a breakthrough race... anyway, i hope it's a great race and look forward to seeing results. i'll be at the marathon trials rooting on psac favorite james carney and perhaps even saying a kind word towards the bucknell alumni that have qualified.

I feel that the next 10 are a complete toss up. Wright looked good in PSACS, but I think everyone is so close its going to be a complete battle. Huber is looking good as a freshman and considering the PSAC is the strongest in the region I dont know how many more will effect the top 10 from PSAC. Good luck ladies!!!

And I think this will be an exciting race for 1st place between Boro & the Rock. I think Weiss will runaway with the win and Reagan will be 25-30 seconds back in 2nd.
