Friendly reminder that I was proven correct that Russ was past his prime in this thread, whereas some posters were forever wrong.

Wilson was a ONE Time All Pro. 9 times Pro Bowler..some of those subs. He played in a far more pass Happy Era that Steve Young, way more lax coverage rules..and probably is most known for not getting out of the worst play EVER called and throwing game ending INT on the 2 yard line.
No One alive thinks he is an All Timer great other than you Deno, sorry, it just is.

So NEVER 1st Team All-Pro? Yeah, his career numbers cannot overcome that glaring shortcoming. If he gets in then the HOF is officially soft.
He will definitely keep me stiff. I couldn’t be happier for him and hope he enjoys retirement. Him announcing his retirement to begin pride month is the best thing I could ask for.
