If he checks the Strava of the doctors, labourers, teachers and plasterers who finished around him at London 2025 he will see he is overdoing it.
The kid just ain't very bright.
*You mean the doctors, labourers, teachers and plasterers who finished behind him. Unless the one guy from the masses that beat him has multiple careers.
The one guy from the masses that beat him doesn't have multiple careers but he has a young family as well as being 20 years older than him!
Thoughts on RTJ not running London and going for an Ekiden instead?
I think not running London makes a lot of sense - he's clearly not all that fit right now and, while it would of course appeal to his mostly British fanbase, he was never going to run a time that he'd be happy with.
I don't know what to think of him picking an Ekiden instead of a marathon as his next race, though. It of course fits the Japan theme, but for someone who's been going on and on about a sub 2:10 marathon, It feels like a bit of a cop-out to go for a completely different type of race instead of targeting a marathon later in the season.
I’m all for it. Jake seems to be more of a man focused on Japan now than the marathon while still keeping serious about his goals.
He left his home and job to go specifically to Japan on scholarship. Was the scholarship framed to be running oriented? Yeah, but the guy has made a new life for himself in Tokyo then Nanyo. It would be weird if he didn’t pivot and do the Ekiden. Sets him up to get faster and train for something post injury, get more connected with the town and the NDSoft guys, and when ready move back up.
Jake hadn’t run serious long runs since his injury, so why risk it in London? Ekidens are THE race to be a part of in Japan (if you can even get close to an opportunity to participate in one). It’s hardly a cop-out.
He's run around ~42 miles already over the last 2 days including a 1:13 tempo HM, so he's seems to be getting back into it well.
how can a 17min 5km be judged a good run? theres only one hill at the start of that loop then a huge downhill.
her being 3rd quickest of the day just shows how little interest most clubs and top runners have in the event these days. there was literally nobody racing who has ran for GB in any xc or other event in at least the last 12 months. it was a proper mediocre turnout
Yeah it’s one uphill at the start…but for about 2 miles, even in the downhill there’s a hill the middle and the kicker to the finish. Really don’t think you can judge anyone’s performance based on a time for that course - otherwise I better hang up my running shoes looking at my own time. I’m not saying it was a stand out run but not bad considering it’s her first since being injured and it’s doesn’t seem like she’s been in full training for that long
King of cringe Floberg attends grandpa's funeral. Posts stylised, almost staged photo of his child mourning. Core memory, bro
Most people would have a funeral or a cup stacking competition or whatever he did at the weekend and just live the moment but Floberg just has to create a set piece to ram "the moment" down our throats, probably with Teen Mom style trailercore music. It's all about the content, bro
Did Fenton do the same? Posted some photos from his Grandads funeral?
Have I done every funeral I’ve ever been to wrong where I go to pay my respects and mourn the deceased?
So you're saying you want a fodcast x sirpod x motional intelligence?
I listened to two of Calum Godard’s pods today as I wanted to hear the guests talk- I have never heard an interviewer interrupt so much, even the clip at the start of episode highlights supposed to reel you in was half about his sub 3 target. Mate no one cares, you’re talking over your guests we actually came for..
I think its pretty sensible to not spam marathons over and over untill you burn out or reach your round number, like the typical influencer. Not that much have happened since last try I bet, so why not wait untill the fall, or god forbid next year.
Was he not targeting the sub 2:10 to try to get the time for the European road running champs? Presumed that was why it would have to be this year. Having a sub 2:10 goal with a time frame of infinity doesn’t really hit the same
Relying on an app to tell you what workouts you have to do for the whole training plan, thinking that's gonna get you a sub 3, is a joke, I know is all marketing and he probably has to do so and share his Runna training workouts, since they got him a bib.
Couple of 30k long runs with sprinkles of marathon pace, no real challenge or sort of race simulation, also if I was him I wouldn't have started tapering 3 weeks out from the race.. By the time London Marathon comes he will even forget how sub 3 pace feels like for over 10k..
Let's see how the weather is going to be this year
He seems to have held the planned pace perfectly in all the workouts but the biggest workouts are like 6k x3 at MP. Wonder if he'll blow up badly half way in.
To be fair, he doesn't even know how you use a lactate meter. Remember pre London last year? He thought his readings meant he was in whatever shape he never was.
Of how he thinks LT1 can be at like 180bpm peak on a treadmill.
He has gotten fast but the amount he trains and has time available, plus the knowledge he should have gained, it's staggering the lack of knowledge he can impart back to his viewers.
He got asked to explain LT1 and LT2 in layman’s terms and it was so clear he was trying to rattle off a definition he parrots and doesn’t understand so can’t simplify. Man doesn’t know what lactate is.
Judge sirpoc on his writing and what he says and writes. I'm not saying he's a noble laureate, but he's articulate and makes sound arguments! Enough for me to think he has some interesting ideas.
Contrast this with Fenton, Goddard, and Bester, all of whom have degrees. Despite that, none of them appear remotely literate, intellectually sharp, or capable of applying critical thinking and judgement to their training.
So you're saying you want a fodcast x sirpod x motional intelligence?
I would pay good money to just have a close up camera on SIRPOC as Goddard goes on his 3rd 40 minute ramble of the episode about his training for London marathon and how humbling the marathon is.
I would pay even better money for him to explain to Goddards face exactly why his training is complete dogsh*t just for Goddard to do a 32k Runna session the next day with 0 self awareness
i find it extremely concerning that someone is willing to chuck good money at a ficticious conversation between 2 unknown youtubers. who is Goddard? if his training offends u so much, get in contact with him or dont watch whatevers he posts
ive managed to avoid all knowledge of this chump, he cant be a big deal
Meh, he's posted that photo but I don't know if Goddard is intelligent enough to be able to read and understand/process the words in his brain. He probably heard it was a beat selling running book so he bought it and then when it didn't automatically sync to his Coros Pace Pro and tell him exactly what he needs to do he just chucked it.
Like someone above said, qualifications aren't everything. A degree in media from a garbage uni means literally nothing in the real world, within 30 seconds of conversation you can always tell these people are retarded.
