I can't find it, but there is an SNL skit that perfectly embodies the spirit of this thread. I thought it was Dana Carvey's John McLaughlin parody...but it probably isn't. After each pundit made a point, the pundit would make a fake trumpet "do-la-dee-la-doo!" sound in triumph. Maybe someone else remembers better and has better skills than I. Yeah, it’s pretty bad. Based on his Truth Social posts, he seems to have gone around the bend. So far, other than his rallys, he has made any public appearances and it’s fortunate for him that he doesn’t need to attend debates.

The Carroll defamation case is wild. Trump lawyer Habba has no clue about how to present her case, and is doing a performance to please only 1 person, Donald, by channeling his combativeness. Trump appears unrepentant and unwilling to stop defaming Carroll. The jury's job is to determine how much money it will take for Donald to STOP defaming Carroll. If Donald ends up living in a cardboard box he will be on a street corner yelling defamatory statements.

I couldn’t find a total count, but he’s made at least 50 Truth Social posts containing screenshots of various tweets of Carroll’s. Smart people let their attorneys speak for them.

Yeah, I really can't stand DJT, for all the obvious reasons. But I wish outlets like NR didn't act as though saying what "some online posters noticed" is news or keen analysis, or whatever. If they act like fools, it just gives that little bit of ammo to DJT, so that he has a grain of truth at the core of his mountain of lies when he attacks the media. They need to give him nothing to work with.

The frontrunner for the Republican nomination can't keep Nancy Pelosi and Nikki Haley straight?
This wasn't a slip of the tongue and an immediate self-correction (which we all do from time to time). This was him having no clue. This is what serious cognitive decline looks like:

If this helps, during 2016, Trump claimed that Ted Cruz's father of being involved in the JFK assassination:
He's very good at dirty politics, and it worked. You do not like to have to like him or the outcome for the latter part of that statement to be true.
"Disqualifying" is also hopelessly subjective, and every bit as useful as it was when it came to prominence during Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation hearings.
But I don't want to come across as too much of a jerk. It's also true right now that the Supreme Court will hear the case that would, in effect, disqualify Trump in at least two states. So, we'll see.

There is a difference between smearing people, giving them terrible nicknames, and being otherwise vicious and what happened here. Those things, as distasteful as they are, could all be considered strategic and intentional.
Confusing Pelosi with Haley and going on and on with the mix up? That's cognitive decline.
Republicans can nominate him anyway, and I'm sure they will. But when they come for Biden for a gaff or two, they are going to get both barrels blown right back at them with endless video of Trump saying things like this (or thinking that Obama is still the President, for example).
I think the stress of all the court cases is getting to him and he's starting to crack.
