It's pretty simple, really. I went onto the Schwab site early this AM, checked the MV of this ETF (and yes, it is quite regular), it was @ 101k as I recall, then tried to sell it -- at which point the site indicated the probable sale price was @ 95k.
I'm hoping he/she calls Schwab and they help. I suspect a misunderstanding on his part. Or it is not a regular ETF - perhaps it has a gigantic buy/sell spread.

Kind of scary that you work in this field and have no clue at all about this. I suspect the higher value was the MV when the NYSE closed yesterday and the sales price reflected what happened after that time. But I dunno for sure and honestly thought one of the many experts on this thread might actually know something.
that's a good guess. he may have been using yesterday's price to estimate value rather than the current trading price.
