80% of the casualties Germany suffered in WW2 were inflicted by the Russians. The idea that the US or the UK bailed out the Russians is pure and unadulterated stupidity.
Okay, this part is true. The US helped, but at least as much by the materiel it sent to the Soviets as by the sogenannte "second front(s)" that it opened in France (and Italy).
The Germans were beaten by the Soviet Union and the Japanese were beaten by the United States. Sure, a lot of other countries pitched in and made great sacrifices, but the USSR and USA were the countries that ended WWII. Full stop.

1) I have no idea what the conventional wisdom is about how the Russian effort against Germany would have been different in outcome or timing if there wasn't eventually a U.S.-led western front.
2) I am 100% sure that the answer to that question has 100% nothing to do with today's Putin, Russia, or Ukraine.
3) Mouth-breathing GED-holders frequently read some stuff and/or watch some TV about WWII, and think that that in any way makes up for their lack of intelligence or character.

That move will haunt them forever, and none of them have condemned it to my knowledge. It’s the entire voting block that thought that was an appropriate way to treat this minority child fighting for his life. He had one moment to be the brightest star in the sky, and they snubbed him with a classless move.
