I actually think Aubrey is quite a likeable guy. His reel production quality on Instagram is very good.
My gripe, and this is a gripe at ALL 6 stars finishers is about environmental (air travel caused) and financial cost implications of getting 6 stars. There's a huge privledge and selfishness (climate) in doing so. Aubrey is first person from Malawi to do it, a country which is one of the most impacted by climate change. I'm not sure it's actually something that he should be so proud of. He should be immensely proud of some of his other amazing running achievements and journey sharing, but to me, not that one.
This is a joke right, otherwise what is wrong with you? I agree he shouldn’t be proud because his times are pathetic but climate change? Are you a complete NPC?
Yeah he is similar to Fordy walking it in. He shouldn’t be doing Boston as he hasn’t earned a spot. I don’t know how you can do so many marathons and never improve to an average level
Anyone else bored of Jonny Davies talking about himself running laps around Nick Bares ranch? He’s a full time dosser training for an event hardly anyone knows off. He’s not a pro yet carries himself as if he is one. I’ll say what everyone else is thinking - I hope he blows the f*ck up and then we’ll see what he really says. Arrogant t*sser. He is a fast walker, not a runner

Agreed, also I reckon last year they canned the race early because Bare the God Botherer effectively got bored and had the content he wanted out of it - it was a storm in flat land, no one was dying.
This year they have Harvey whatshischops that is definitely capable of keeping them going for 100+ hours, does Nick the "I cheated on my wife it's an open secret with Lucy Davis and turned to God as some terrible way of making things up to her" Hybrid Athlete Roidmonkey get bored and find some excuse to shut things down early this year?
As someone said earlier in the thread, Sarah desperately trying to still relate to the 5 hour hobby joggers whilst also attending an altitude camp when her last 3 months of training on Strava has been... poor

There were lots of classic moments from the experts at the running channel here.
✓ random Runna based interval session that doesn't seem tailored to the demands of the event
✓ 13km planned easy run at altitude for "recovery"
✓ easy runs finishing in z3 and out of breath
✓ superficial explanation about the benefits of altitude training without explaining whether it's really suitable for someone at Sarah's level
✓ big volume week of 80km planned but curiously never mentioned again (spoiler: it wasn't met)
✓ plenty of shots of comped ASICS gear and shoes
Looking back at her training over the last few weeks, almost every run is between 5:00-5:30/km...it's a shame new runners will take advice from someone who clearly doesn't know what they're talking about and inevitably seeing zero progress.

The problem with Elite runners like Ingebrigtsen, Yee, Donato etc doing YouTube is that people's views of 'average' is very distorted. Aubrey is by anyone's standards a decent runner, he ran sub 20 mins for 5k, which is probably in the top 1% of runners in the country
