We have a new 2024 vaccine thread here. New people don't need to try to wade through 20,000 posts to figure out what is going on.
Kennedy — a longtime aficionado of conspiracy theories — floated the idea during a question and answer portion of a raucous booze and fart filled dinner at Tony’s Di Napoli on the Upper East …
It clearly is not. However, when someone begins their answer with ‘yes’ or ‘no’ most people would tend to believe that what follows would support the opening.
It is good to hear that you do understand the significant role omicron had in ending the pandemic.

The chance to capitalize on omicrons mass infection would have been mostly squandered without mass vaccination with effective vaccines.
True. Thus, as I’ve said several times, omicron coupled with vaccine rollouts ended the pandemic. Without each event, it would still be a pandemic or have taken much longer to end it.
Disability claims increased at 600k/year from 2010 to 2016 and then plateaued until Dec 2019. After an initial decline in disability claims after the covid outbreak, disability claims quickly recovered to surpass its previous all time high in May 2021.
But then, instead of returning to the pre-covid rate of increase of 600k/year, claims have increased at over twice that rate. In other words, there has been an excess of 1.2 million disability claims since May 2021.
What caused this excess of 1.2 million disabilities since May 2021? The obvious possibilities are long covid, vaccine damage, or both. I suspect that it's both. Unfortunately, there appears to be no interest in finding out.

Unless you believe that we could have prevented infection (zero COVID) this is obviously true. Without vaccines the death toll would have been way higher. Sadly antivaxxers still chose to sacrifice themselves for political points. Good work comrades 🫡

It’s obviously COVID. There’s strong evidence of long term damage risks from COVID. there is no evidence of such risks from the vaccine. Maybe the claims are actually from changes in the earths magnetic field. There are no efforts to find this out.

Of course the death toll would have been higher without vaccines. No vaccine rollout could have conferred immunity as quickly as omicron waves did though.

Virus’ spread faster than shots. Correct. Unrelated to the pandemic timelines largely. It’s a good thing Omicron came after everyone in the US who wanted to be vaxxed could be, you agree?
Dr. Alfredo Victoria Moreno, a popular Mexican TV doctor who regularly appeared on “Mexico Today” as a “vaccination expert,” died suddenly in his sleep from a myocardial infarction. He was 42 years old.

Surely you don’t actually believe stuff like this. How gullible are you? RFK had him killed
Djokovic crumbles today against inferior competition and blows the chance for a grand slam. Long COVID?
Yeah, definitely long Covid, especially when he set the record for grand slam final singles appearances and you are calling his competition inferior, even though he ultimately lost to the TOP seed.
Epic match. Djokovic makes two routine shots in the second set tiebreak, and he wins the match. But 20 year old legs are younger, now matter how pure Djokovic’s blood is, and multiple SECOND shot winners at 120+ mph and aggressive play won it for Alcaraz. Good for him. Have to admire the way he played.
NoVax is still the goat, has a few more finals titles left, and no one will take his record. Goat. Smart man. Amazing legacy. Victim of Machiavellian tyrants who couldn’t recognize natural immunity as meaningful in a young, athletic person because orthodoxy, dogma, and authoritarianism mattered more. Shameful.

When Djokovic was leading in that 2nd set tiebreak 3-0, I thought for certain he would win the match. He remains a professional athlete to admire, like Kyrie Irving, Aaron Rodgers, Cole Beasley, etc.

Agree with first and third points. Disagree with second.
What do you think would happen in the US now if a variant with the virulence of omicron (50% infection rate in 3 months) hit the US today with only 17% of the population having taken bivalent booster?

Novak is a great player. But, a GOAT doesn’t fold like a lawn chair when his legacy is on the line. Case closed
We can only imagine how he might have handled the pressure were his cognitive functions at 100%. Long COVID from an unvaxxed infection obviously on display.

Totally fine. The vaccine has been shown to give great protection against severe disease even against novel strains. this is one area where omicron infective immunity falls short. It simply doesn’t confer the appropriate breadth. Without vaccines a new omicron-like strain would be likely quite serious.

All athletes who saw a notable decline in the “vaccine era.” I’ll let you fill in the dots given what we know about unvaxxed COVID infections.

You don’t think omicron was quite serious even with vaccines? Granted, it obviously would have been worse without that protection, but I consider the death toll from that wave devastating worldwide.
You really think that with only 17% uptake with the bivalent, the US would be fine with an omicron-like variant emerging? The US wasn’t fine when omicron hit with a 60% vaccination rate.
