Look it is simple, I don't think Gary is a millionaire, so he has to make sure that the forum he admins does not break the law in Britain on libel. A lot of what is said on here would break those laws, but you are US based and your moderators don't seem to care about potential lawsuits, maybe because they have deep pockets.
Oh, and yes some of t he people on here are abusive and get very personal, a line does get crossed.

So man up Gary and say "This can't be said due to Libel laws" - ideally having an understanding of what these are rather than appearing to be supporting cheating by attacking those exposing it.

Ultrarunning Community is not even Gary's group. The owner has just found an obsessive person who sits on the internet all day long to moderate the group for him.
There are five or six people on there who think they are running Gods, and also think they are hilariously funny, and everyone else follows like sheep.
Gary has just taken this admin role way too seriously and seems to think he is highly important - likely because he's not at ALL important in the real world.
Locking threads and deleting them and trying to be nice to cheats seems to make him feel important - sad little man.
And as if Rob Young, Mark Vaz or the Readings could sue a facebook group for simply posting the truth. They would have to prove it was lies, and its not

Are you qualified to diagnose this? Can you tell the difference between someone acting out a role presumably for their own entertainment (Fake Kaiha) and genuine mental illness? This is the internet, all sorts of stuff is said, with experience you develop a filter to cut through the noise. If you wipe it all then you are left with North Korea's idea of the internet.

Yeah sure, I am sure that Google the owners of YouTube are constantly having to pay out for the comments people leave below the videos.
The bottom line is that despite the glaring evidence you will not call out this fraud and therefore do not support fair Ultra running efforts. This discredits you and he forum.
Interesting to note that in one of those pics on the newspaper article he's wearing what would appear to be a TomTom GPS running watch. One would of thought that if he was the real deal he would of been using his GPS enabled running watch for the WR attempt. This would have all the data to prove his run was legit...unless of course he never intended to actually 'run' the WR.
Re: the driver / cameraman. These are only my thoughts so should not be taken as truth. It is possible that the attention on this thread made them both very nervous. They started to feel the pressure of the intense scrutiny which made them decided against being involved with the sham run. This may well of be what led to the collapse of the WR attempt. Without the support of the driver and cameraman Dave knew he would have to actually run in excess of 90 miles per day. This was clearly something that was beyond him based on his current level of fitness and running history. He knew the game was up, pulled out with 'shredded feet' and then proceeded to blame internet trolls on the fact that he couldn't complete his WR attempt.

So stop defending him then! It is perfectly possible to stick to the known facts - the 2016 London result, the bare facts of the "record" attempt without mentioning anything remotely libellous unless your idea of libel is "anything written than someone else might not like regardless of truth".
As for the "destroying people's lives" - Gary could as easily direct this at the courts, what is sending someone to prison if it isn't that ? Does this justify letting people get away with anything?
The facts have not been deleted from the forum, Gary has. It defended him. However he appears to not like the making up facts, abusive stuff etc that goes on. He doesn't need to allow it on the forum so he doesn't. if you want to post facts relating to running on there in a civil way it won't be deleted. I don't get your problem with that. I have posted exactly the sort of thing you suggest, it's still there.

I just had a thought, has anyone tried searching UK court/police records for Dave, Terrie, or one of their shell company names? Those probably don't show up in Google results and may shed some light on the scam.
