123, why do you post about issues you know nothing about?? Are you just ignorant or a 14 year old. Your opinion is worthless unless you can back it up with specific s. Or maybe you are just an attention seeking loser. Don't post unless you can provide facts. And no ad hominem attacks.
Well the first posts were about recruiting. Then people were complaining they were underrated and it reminded me of Rocky Mountain and just got pissed(bad day personally). Sorry I said rude stuff. Summary is they recruit and they are being accurately valued by speed ratings.
was suprised to see max cervi skinner get 3rd with 14:57 behind sheesley 14:57 and nate statlander 14:55. Nat's 14:55 is only 6 seconds away from the course record set by nathan neil 14:49
my general feel right now is that northwest has the fastest individual runners in the country followed by southwest and Heartland which mostly just has the big 3: putz, mechura and gonzalez. I would still put heartland 3rd best individuals right now.

Name one person CBA recruited
how many of the kids would be able to go there if they had a district assigned to them like a public school? Barrett wouldn't, he's from several towns over.
you're right its not recruiting, i dont know why the other person is using that word. I was just talking about advantages that some schools have. when a kid can pick whatever school he wants whether its because its private or because you can choose your public school like in colorado and utah it definitely is an advantage when building a program. Public schools in states where they are limited to their district are at a disadvantage in comparison.

This is ridiculous.
CDA just averaged the fast time ever on Eagle Island.
Faster than Herriman's 2023 and 2024 Firman times (albeit those were in warmer and dustier conditions so maybe not better teams), faster than NXN champion teams Gig Harbor 2013 and Bozeman 2016, faster than Crater 2022, which won NXR over Jesuit, before the Oregon schools went on to place 4th and 2nd at NXN respectively, with a Newbury Park team in the field.
Rocky just had the best team average they have ever had. Better than 2021, 2022, and 2023, all teams that while didn't make NXN, were definitely top 30, possibly top 20 teams in the nation (2021 squad got like 23rd at Runninglane or something like that).
Max CS is a very legit runner, 3rd at Woodbridge is no joke. He's put up ridiculous XC times at some local courses in the Pacific North West. Someone like that, only placing 3rd at their state meet, regardless of whether he had a good day or not, is unbelieveable. Nate Stadtlander beat Landon Heemeyer head to head at the state meet least year but didn't make NXN as an individual. Surely him and the Boise runner who got 2nd this year, Jack Sheesley, are now in the conversation to make NXN and place well as individuals.
At-large bids should go 2 SW, 1 NW, 1 S in that order.
Actually not to sure about 1 S yet. 100% 1 S if Austin Vandegrift or Carroll get 3rd. But if Bridgeland is 3rd, that could just another bid for Northwest or Midwest.
Many public schools in NJ take tuition students and have been for years. Many sports programs in the area take advantage of that situation and attract kids from all over. Monmouth county, where CBA is located, has several vocational schools ranked in the top 10-20 in the country as well as some of the best comprehensive high schools in the country. For example - Colts Neck HS is in a district with 5 other large schools. They often have athletes from the other towns in their district due to special programs offered at their school. I don't think the advantages are as big as you think.
NJ just allowed recruiting of 8th graders this year or last year for all schools so I do not think anyone in their top 7 are recruited.
The boys on that team work very hard. Do not take away from that.

In 2018, two out-of-state transfers came in to CBA: Shaw Powell from Jesuit OR and Tristan Amell from Pennsylvania. Both were out-of-state transfer so I don’t think they were recruited.
That’s pretty much the only transfers to CBA that I know of.
Amell also actually moved to California the summer before the 2019 season.

Rerun those numbers bro, Herriman was 10 seconds faster per kid. Yes it was extremely hot at Bob Firman compared to the conditions today. Still a great race for CDA. I was there and the race was fire!

i dont know why you think im trying to diminish anyones hard work. I'm just saying its easier to build and sustain a great program when you aren't limited in who can come to your school. Thats it. CBA may be in a fair fight with other schools in NJ if freedom of choice is allowed but there are a lot of states where they just have a built in advantage of all public schools.
In my state outside of one county if you want to send your child to public school that is not your district you have to petition the local school board and they are pretty strict with what they allow. The school has to offer something that the school in your district doesnt like an IB program or they can be grandfathered in if you moved while already attending the school (plus younger siblings).
Niwot broke team course record by only 1 second. Not gonna lie, that is pretty underwhelming, for a team that got 5th and returned everyone this year. Maybe CBA chances aren't as bad as we made them out to be...

Their top 2 guys at NXN were the last 2 on the team today
