Someone commented on Flobergs 10 miles at "goal pace" (which was about 2;29 pace) on Strava saying why are you running this pace when every race you've ran indicates you're in 2:35 shape and the man responded "My top end usually never translates to my marathon prediction. I think I'm within PB striking distance again."
He never races. When he does, he says he was untapered. When he does race his times indicate he is not in 2:30 shape and this is proven on race day. When does he ever look at "top end speed"? Don't the usual VDOT style calculations work for this man? Is he special?
Doesn't believe in US education system and thinks he knows better. Doesn't believe in the coaches guidance and thinks he knows better. Doesn't believe in VDOT calculators and thinks he knows better.
The man is an absolute idiot
He's constantly maxing himself out in his workouts as evidenced in the long run you mentioned and the other 2mi repeats he did earlier in the week. The paces he's hitting for the amount of effort he's putting in clearly show that he's in for a really unpleasant day if he goes out at 3:30/km pace at Boston. I suspect a blow up is on the horizon with a "just not my day" excuse and a "I freaking love this community" with the rock on emoji to close out the caption.
It's upsetting how painfully accurate this will turn out to be
Floberg will apparently be sponsored by Adidas at Boston. They had a great bit of value with their sponsorship of Cole Gibbens who couldn't even make a start line fit so let's see what happens to the Adidas Influencer budget after another flop in Boston, an event they're sponsoring
I think you can tell the level of insights you'll be getting when he says Ben recently ran 64:50, which is under 65:00. Like cheers bud, do you think your followers are unfamiliar with how time works?
In fairness anyone who's a self proclaimed "fan" of Goddard need their head checking out.
I occasionally clock in when he has an interesting guest and I'm reminded how retarded he is. His solo videos are even better, they're like watching a car crash
Hanes ran 26:25 for a 5 miler. Says he wants to be 10-15 seconds slower per mile when he does London.
Opens the video with a KEY WORKOUT 12 miles at marathon pace. Shows a short clip of him running and doesn't say anything about. Does 400 repeats, shows one rep in 70 and says nothing else about it. Ends the video saying he has BIG TEST coming up, 10 miles at marathon pace. Expect him to say nothing about it in the next video.
Absolute spoofer. I watched it so you don't have to.
Would think Matt is referring to Luke. Has run 2:24 and obviously they no longer speak now and stopped the podcast? Maybe it’s that? Not sure if Luke aimed for sub 2:20 though.
Matt is ALWAYS burning bridges with people. It's his one and only true talent.
He accused Anya Culling of doping bc of her thyroid condition and also had a fallout with Bester over his coaching "scam" and then Culling and Bester themselves had a falling out with each other (for an undisclosed reason) and Culling left Best Athletics.
But very interestingly, Anya recently posted on Instagram about all of her London marathons in advance of this year's race and thanked Bester for pacing her to the 2:36 (which was really her breakout race). Bester responded nicely in the comments. So they seemed to have finally made at least tentative amends. No similar olive branch extended to Fox though.
For someone so intelligent, driven and obviously successful she destroyed her last chance to crush Boston by wearing spikes for a 10,000 and fracturing her calcaneus.
She has a medicine yr starting in July which will maybe allow her to continue training and radiology is know to be reasonable so maybe.
Elson 13:51. Ben Felton is closing the gap on the guy who lambasted his training and Olympic dreams. Ben is laughing.
That’s a time people are running and faster in Battersea Park who have full time jobs. Can’t help but think the investment is best spent on up and coming athletes.
