Is anyone else interested to see how Sarah from the running channel gets on at Rotterdam marathon?
I think she is aiming for a PB, but it looks like despite being a presenter on the running channel, all the classic hobby-jogger mistakes are there: easy runs too hard, racing workouts, inconsistent volume, panic-training with two weeks to go to catch up, inconsistently following a Runna training plan, the list goes on.
Maybe she can pull it out the bag anyway. We must be due another predictions video from Mr Grose anyway now it's marathon season?
Yes, he's a bit needy, but he's a good looking guy. I guess his addiction to running would be troublesome. However, looks wise he better looking than your average skinny fat runner
Running addiction Irrelevant for a cheating/ONS scenario. Labrador retriever energy might get him a gf but not exactly a swaying factor when cheating should be lust related and the lad is not handsome. Irish and English pale Ginger lads struggle on the sex appeal front to the locals.
I imagine the barrier to entry is lightly regulated and very low. They probably think they will become the next maurten and charge several pounds for some BS hydrogel hype.
Or they want to become some influencer hyped brand like Precision Hydration. It's probably increasingly more expensive to sponsor runfluencers.
Saw some insane quotes on what Hugo fry gets per post here, If thats the case precision are paying serious bank. Not sure the ROI is worth that in terms of what materialises as sales.
To be fair I don't particularly know either, he's just a runfluencer (ex-running channel presenter) that has a job with the company that was being discussed, nee need to gan radge sonna
So Kofuzi is still alive. Is there a reason he's gone dark on Strava? Can't imagine he was getting any heat in the comments section unless Sage and Serious Runner were trolling him.
He went dark right before his 100k. His time was reasonable and he probably ran the full distance but it's really sus to set your Strava to private before an ultra like that.
As for why he probably disappeared from the platform, Strava/Runna won't sponsor him anymore. The dude won't post a thing unless he's paid for it!
I looked out his podcast and the description is:
In the span of a couple days, I had two international trips get cancelled on me in the last minute. It's pretty annoying. But, I did get a different international trip put back on to the calendar. so, there are some updates that will affect the livestream schedule.

Cadence have to be one of the worst - for their target market electrolytes are pretty low on list of things they need...the idea that hobby joggers should be paying for electrolyte supplements for their < 3 hour runs is laughable.
Anyone else keep getting Lee Grantham in their youtube feed? I can't understand any of the points he's making but his '5, 6, 7' workout was in Runner's World and it sounds like a fast track to injury.
Funnily enough just by the exposure from his channel have come to the conclusion they might be the worst designed gels of all time. The packets are HUGE, 13.97 x 6.05 x 15.88 cm & 603g as per Amazon.
I know this is a bashing thread but cmon folks we can still use our brains here. Surely you must realize that those dimensions are for the package of 12, not an individual gel
SirPoc fast becoming a real influencer/youtuber rather than just a hobby jogger.
Im predicting in 12 months he will have a podcast with The Dental Athlete. That would be great.
He will never be a proper influencer. I will tell you why. He refuses to really push or promote anything. Even his own incredible book, which is just about the best reviewed running book of recent times.
You can tell he genuinely is baffled by the whole interest and he comes across like he's only half joking when insinuating FOD forced him. Maybe they'll do it regular. It'll be better than 99% of content put out podcast wise. Sirpoc has no clue himself, but he's probably the best thing to happen to hobby jogging in a long time. For many, many people he has changed a lot of fortunes for the better.
He seems like a normal dude as well. Instead of making a sob story and BS video when he dropped out of Seville, he went to get a beer, then seen riding a bike around the city cheering his friends on. Plus every single person who has ever posted here, Reddit or Strava who has bumped into him at a race says he truly is a top guy.
FOD is a good person to do something like this with as just about everyone likes him as well.
Anyway, I feel dirty making a positive post in this thread. I was actually going to post about hoe Floberg is genuinely making me angry lately and I have an unhealthy dislike and rage of a man I have never met. But, it gets worse every single time he posts or uploads anything.
The dental athlete has to be up there with the worst personalities and attention seekers. He’s on £1000 a month from sportsshoes. He asked them about more money as he wanted to become a full time content creator and give up passing people water to clean their mouths! Sportshoes advised against this!! He’s now sharing content of him taking a kid across a finish line he’s raised awareness for… for his own look at me moment!

Just realised I used the wrong measurement ... Doh. (Lesson learnt, don't lets run whilst working)
But the gel packets are huge, just not quite that big...

It's one of those things that looks good on paper to people with very little running experience - but is actually impossible to do in practice for any length of time.
Just running the numbers, I don't think I could even run 1km at 10% faster than my 5k race pace.
And 5 x 1k at 5k pace off 60 seconds recovery would be an all-out effort in training; let alone doing it 10% faster.
Maybe if you were a 25 - 30 minute runner, 5k pace would be a low enough intensity (physiologically) that you could get away with it for a while - but there are far more productive (and less painful) ways to train.

Flogborg “ripped” 15x600 on the treadmill at the magical made up CV pace that’s actually his 5k race pace
Nothing has made me happier than seeing Ben Fenton getting roasted in the comments of his New Balance Ellipse video. People aren't vibing with his glazing paid reviews anymore it seems. Comparing this boring EVA trainer with Adidas Evo SL/Novablast is hilarious.
The only con is that it's not a speed shoe? Really??
He may as well just say at the start of the video "Sports Direct wants me to make an ad for this crappy trainer".
Sage claiming in his latest short that he's "never been hurt" in his running career.
Didn't his heart pop or some shi.
"heart pop or some shi"?
Um, I had a pulmonary embolism (blood clots in the lungs). I'd consider it totally non-running related...however running fitness may have helped save my life.
In term of actual running/"over-use injury" I've never had anything besides mild shin splints and tendonitis (which I've generally been able to run through). At the age of 20 I got mono and had to take like a month off.
Other than that: no stress fractures or serious injury (unless you want to count trail falls that required stitches or a few ankle twists from blunt force...but even those only took my out from running for 5-10 days tops).
I've been very lucky to be "durable" and sustain a lot of 100 +-mile training weeks over the past 20 + years (as well as over 60 + marathon and ultra marathon finishes). Near constant racing every year for the past 25 years. Ran my first 100-mile week when I was 20 and ran my first marathon in 2:22 at the age of 21.
Many of my teammates in college and at Hansons would get hurt all the time. Many Ultra runners also get hurt all the time. I've been pretty lucky in that regard.
