British Medical journal, The Lancet, has reported that Trump's incompetence and lack of leadership caused 40 percent of the U.S. Vivid deaths !! Thus, Trump is now responsible for 190,000 deaths !!

50/50 odds that the extreme policies of the Biden Administration (rule by committee), and poor socio/economic set-up, puts Republicans back in charge of Congress in 2024. Recriminations from the other side becomes the order of the day. Truly the government we all deserve.

this is the problem...there is no R party power outside Trump. So there's no alternate gravity source to go to, if you are an R and want to move away from Trump. You can't do it. there's no alternative. Nowhere to go.

So you stay with him and hope he doesnt' end democracy.

You're way too optimistic here. The Senate will get bluer in 2022. There's something like 34 seats up for election, and 20 of them are Republican now. And 4-5 Republican Senators who are up for re-election in 2022 are retiring, most in purple states. The Democrats will have a great chance to pick up seats in the Senate.

The House is a different story. The party that doesn't have the White House generally picks up House seats in the midterm election. But if the Democrats can find and run the type of moderate candidate (Crow, Lamb) that was so successful in 2018, they could hold their lead in the House.

And what you call "extreme policies" are actually pretty middle of the road and tend to be very popular. Trying to paint Biden as a radical didn't work for you guys in 2020, but you didn't learn your lesson.

Judging by the results of the last few elections, I'd say the population will not only tolerate but actually prefers those "unnatural policies".

Which is why more Americans voted for Hillary than for Trump. Which is why more Americans voted for Democratic candidates in 2018 than Republican candidates. Which is also why many more Americans voted for Biden than Trump.

We'll see if and when the Republicans can come back from the hole they're in now. But it must be tough to prefer the minority party, especially now that Trump has maintained his relevance. He's a cinder block around the ankle of the Republican Party.

She has no experience in politics. She received a degree in communications and has been successful in the in the broadcasting industry. Ivanka would be even more unqualified.

Trump was able to pull it off because of the perception of him being a self-made billionaire with exceptional negotiation skills and his skill at manipulating less sophisticated voters is extremely rare.

We all know of Kamala Harris’ qualifications, and skills at getting a head. If you know what I mean.

If the intent is to engage in some meaningful discussion, it might be helpful if you expanded upon what specific "extremist social policies" you think will be damaging and why you think so. Broadly invoking "extremist social policies" is a dog whistle with which anyone you hope to persuade is probably not in tune.

The obvious policy on the immediate horizon is the proposed big budget Covid relief package, but I'd expect that to be generally more popular with the electorate than not. The Republicans in 2022 will, of course, run against the deficit implications but it's not clear how effective that will be with swing voters.

Biden and the Democrats, by virtue of fortuitous timing, have taken power at a point when the Covid crisis seems to be in decline and with reasonable path back to normalcy, albeit probably not for another 8-10 months, but that's about the time that the 2022 campaign season gets rolling.

I know this was a long time ago, and you may not remember. But Biden was Vice President from 2009-2017. During those years, the American economy did really well. If Biden can come close to replicating that, he and the Democrats will be fine.

Only a very small minority of people, which apparently includes you, consider Biden to be an extremist. You Trump people desperately wanted the Democrats to nominate Bernie, and you still haven't adjusted to Biden.

Donald Trump is an entity unto himself and his skills, such as they are, appear to be non-transferable. There's no one in his family or even amongst his inner circle who can generate the same type of positive attention that DJT seems to be able to do. This comes, at least in part, from his "celebrity". It was the same ability John Gotti had. He could have run for POTUS and won.
