Yeah, his solo 64:45 was impressive, but if he'd have skipped that one, and run Bath, he'd probably have run faster and not done as much damage.
He does probably have 2:12-2:13 potential if he gets it all together.
Part of Gibbos issues are mental. He 100% disappeared up his own ass after London and I don't think, even with the constant injuries and issues since, he is yet to reappear
Cole doesn't strike me as egotistical so much as kind of insecure. I guess they're both related, but to me it seems less a case of having a lofty opinion of his own abilities and more like what he thinks he needs to do to 'succeed' in his own eyes is always enough to shoot himself in the foot.
Like, dude put down a frankly excellent debut last year, even with the underfueling issues that tanked things later down the road. He's only really done one full marathon cycle, so most likely he could just repeat the London build from last year with better nutrition and a bit more experience and see some big improvements, but instead he has to go on some epic vengeance quest to 'prove it wasn't a fluke' even if it comes at the cost of what actually worked in the first place.
Matt was on an Irish podcast the other day and criticised Luke’s training so much and said “I don’t think he’ll mind me saying this”…. Maybe he did mind 😂😂
In an Instagram Q&A session he did today someone asked about Luke and basically Matt said Luke “wasn’t racing well enough” to be on the podcast or something like that and that the sweatelite podcast is a “performance oriented” show
Friendship ended with Luke, now Michael Fox is his new friend.
Mick is hilarious to be fair, I actually managed to get through their two recent podcasts start to finish - wouldn’t normally be the case with Sweat Elite!
Not at all - doesn't matter to his fanbase. His results may not be etched in stone formally however he'll still label himself as XX:XX half IM athlete for clicks and clout.
The "sub 5 HIM but DISQUALIFIED???!!" click bait will work as well for him if not better than no DQ for clicks
Elson has done nothing to note in the last year whereas Felton has made significant improvements. Get Run it three ways back together and let Felton roast the other two!
In fact, if you look at Fenton’s 5k and 10k times, Elson had already matched them in the period before he even considered himself a runner way back in 2020/21
Fenton has an insta story up claiming he's catching the "elites", no more runfluencer

Semi pro runner whose professional work can be built around their running catching the semi pros whose running must be built around work as teachers, doctors, labourers etc.
Not quite Elson's og closing the gap series where he ends up with a world silver
Also seen that Nick Bester has 'partnered' with gowod. In the screenshot he shared, Bester - a man who has announced he's had a calf tear for 10 years fluctuating to 6/10 pain has an ankle mobility score of 100%.
Sure there's some additional context to how that's calculated but on the face of it very funny and doesn't make me think it's an app worth trying
Did McCarthy break up with her man because he is now faster than her? Given her slogan, that’s on brand and she simply couldn’t comprehend a man being faster than her. It’s sexist apparently
If you check out the Strava of ‘Run the planet’ he did a half marathon in 1:38 but is claiming a 10k PB and his ever first sub 40 from it as he managed that in the second half..
However, it looks like the second half was hugely down hill with a tail wind.
Would you be claiming that?
Does this put him in a prime position to finally get his sub 3 marathon goal?
I ran this and know the course well from previous years. The last 10k of it (which I think is being claimed) is timed separately as an intermediate challenge (as is the last uphill mile) and it does seem to line up well with people’s 10k pb, if it’s part of a full effort for the HM (the link holds for me and the winner).
However, this guy seems to have gone off super easy up the hill and then nailed the downhill really hard (not just negative split a full effort) which probably breaks the link between the times.
This guy has form for doing this, as he did Edinburgh half last year which has a downhill opening 7km or thereabouts. He absolutely blasted the opening 10k (and still failed sub 40) then jogged in the rest, which was his intention all along. He did a Colorado marathon vid last year too when he gleefully claimed his PB on a downhill course, which did provoke some discussion in his comments regarding legitimacy.

I find Matt Fox talking about 'stuff' pretty entertaining. I find Matt Fox talking about people (including himself) absolutely frightening

Not quite, but 64:50 is still an impressive HM time for him. I'm all for calling out the influencers for their shilling etc, but got to give credit for decent performances too

Trust me, no labourer is running semi pro times. Those mongs struggle to run a bath
Kofuzi is mad that "the keyboard warriors of the running internet" were grumpy about the LA Marathon handing out medals at mile 18. I take it as an admission that he reads this thread with his daily paper!
Kofuzi was actually deliberately vague in describing the situation in his video, stating the the runners who retire at mile 18 “would still have a small momento of the adventure”, obfuscating the fact this “small momento” is a finisher medal, likely to sidestep the argument and paint everyone who disagrees with him as an irrational troll.

Nah he broke up with her because she cheated on him at world champs with another well known runfluencer
The drama in the running YouTube community is getting out of hand. These threads move so fast with "evidence" that half the time I can't even tell who is accusing who anymore. Just let the internal processes finish instead of drip-feeding screenshots every hour.

Quote the post you are replying to brother.
"These threads move so fast" yes so we have no idea who you are referring to
