This guy is my current favourite youtuber to watch from a wtf are you doing pov. He doesn't post much on youtube but worth checking his instagram to see how ridiculous his training is. Pretty much every run he does is a tempo or hard intervals.
No offence mate but you sound deranged. Who gives a f*ck how wealthy they are. Leave them be.
This, who gives a shoit if he's a millionaire - he's living in a box room in Japan eating squid sandwiches every day.
Good way to spot the Matt Fox puppet accounts though
No one gives a s**t, especially not me. I have nothing against rich people putting in the rough -- Orwell is one of favourite authors! Mat Fox is more of a Rogan alt right guy.
On a final note, I don't know why people get so triggered and offended on here when people just state the truth about Jake's background. There are even people convincing themselves he's from a "gritty working class background". Chill out guys!

This. I literally couldn't give a flying f*ck. Even if his parents are rich, how is that his fault, and what do you expect him to do about it?
Maybe this is the case, and it took the pressure off for him, but that meant we got an entertaining YouTube channel to enjoy out of it.
The guy is living a simple life in tiny apartments in Japan. He was trading/buying shoes with other people to save money, eating cheap meals all the time, and there's never a hint of a flashy lifestyle.
I'm pretty sure after getting the Brooks deal he also gave away his shoes and stuff? Literally the complete opposite of most of the YouTubers out there who just wear shoes for 20 miles, put out a crappy review regurgitating what everyone else already said, then create a "shoedio" to put them on display like it's a f*cking museum.
Spending lockdown between there and the £9m family home backing on to Sheen / Richmond Park must have been tough - is he the least relatable / likeable influencer we have?
I’d love to know what his parents cut the allowance to for him to “experience being poor”
Well yeh his dad Adam started and ran a fund called Majedie managing assets of c.£10bn, so no wonder that;
1. He could financially take the risk to pursue his passion and begin a start up,
2. He had the connections to raise significant Seed and venture funding within 2-3 years.
3. He has multiple properties to film his lockdown workouts
Anyway, he had a leg up but he's played his cards well, despite shambolic knowledge of the sport & some spurious PB claims, he cashed out nicely to Strava. I can't see Runna lasting long-term, the bubble will burst.
Other co-founder Dom does seem like a more genuine bloke.

Mate you’re doing research about the kind of degree his Dad earned, it’s f*cking weird. No one is saying he’s some working class hero, he’s just a nice guy who has an interesting running story.
ginger man does funny video to watch while i eat before long run
literally. if youre looking up his dad's degree and deciding whether to like/watch someone, who makes a weekly 15 minute video about his jogging, based on how much perceived wealth you think his dad has, you have serious issues and you need to either do some soul searching or see a therapist.
The fact he got a scholarship does not discount his privileged background. I am not saying he's Brooklyn Beckham; in fact, I don't think he get the impression he's financially backed by his parents. All I am saying, is I think he has a big safety net that ment "running to Japan" was not a huge risk!
This is exactly it, and those who aren't from working class backgrounds wont understand it. Its not even that he was financially supported but he had the privilege of being able to take a massive gamble on moving to japan with no job or financial security, knowing that if all went wrong he has the safety net of his families money however much that may be...
Compare that to a council estate kid who has just got a decent job as a teacher making a good wage, they wouldn't be able to make that gamble because if it didn't work they would likely end up on the streets.
Sounds like you should be watching HS Tikky Tokky videos instead of RTJ ones mate

Matt Fox is a big free Palestine guy. You have people across the spectrum (Newname, for example) but as a whole, it's much more of a left wing thing
We get it you watched the Louis Theroux documentary mate...
Clearly didn't engage your brain to generate any critical thoughts though if you think that criticism of Ran to Japan has any relevance to the "manosphere".
Also I have no issue with RTJ and think its admirable what hes done, just odd that people are trying to make out that he was some self made success story out of nothing. In fact I'm sure Jake himself would be the first to thank his family and support network for allowing him to pursue his dream of becoming a pro runner

Whatever happened to Seth Demoor and sawing his shoes in half?

Matt Fox now listens to Tucker Carlson’s podcasts and believes in various conspiracy theories. I think the “Free Palestine” stance comes solely from his wife, but otherwise he’s a complete conspiracy nut.

I also love how his official chip time at Barcelona is 2:41:20 (which he even states in his youtube video there) yet his recent instagram post and video about it has in huge bold letters "2:40 MARATHON". That's some bold time-rounding.
(I realize it probably is actually worth it from a marketing/search results point of view, but it's still clownish)

I think it’s more that Matt has special interests; he’s clearly on the spectrum. I’d say most of his interests (e.g., Rogan and Tucker Carlson) lean to the right. Who knows, though. His podcast comes across as the ramblings of almost a caricature of a narcissist. If an actor portrayed a crazy person this way, they’d be told to tone it down!

Stop whining about his background then. Nobody owes you a living, everyone has to work to get on in life, he's no different even if he's not "working class" like you. You come across as someone with a massive chip on your shoulder, a conspiracy theorist...hence the manosphere reference. Hope that's clearer for you.
Nick Bester confirms he has an Achilles tear and will start rehab in the summer, but in the meantime will still do full sends at London marathon, Swansea half and some other races. What could go wrong?
