Yeah cause I am sure NYU is just gonna show up and run for third. Maher and Turlip just drilled Lang from UR, who ran right with some of Geneseo's top guys a few weeks back. Not saying NYU will beat either team, but to call it a two team race is just uninformed.
Oh I agree with you that NYU's top guys will mix it up. They aren't quite on the same level as the top two teams, but with a good race or a shaky race by one of the SUNYs, they could break into the top two. I was just saying that Geneseo is going to have Cortland gunning for them hard.
I still think that SLU will be closer than people give them credit for. In previous years NYSCTC had been the week before regionals. With the change this year I expect that SLU will do better at regionals than in the past. If they peak right, then I see them very close to NYU.
The top 4 again looks as solid as it did early in the season with SLU soundly beating both Rochester schools over the past couple weeks. The race for 5th could still be interesting though as well. RIT is the obvious favorite but, again, the NYSCTC teams now have an off week before regionals so I don't think UR will blow up again like they did last year. Fredonia's pack looked much better at SUNYACs than it had so far this season, but their 5th guy situation will kill them if the gap is as bad at regionals. They're not out of the 5th spot picture just yet, but the odds are stacked heavily against them.
Hamilton ran at NESCACs were today, they didn't look too bad. That course (Wickham Park) is moderately difficult, uphill start and finish. It doesn't take rain well, and the Williams writeup is claiming that it was pretty muddy (there were races there yesterday as well). They should easily make it into the top 10 with their 4-man scoring team.
