Its a broad range honestly but typically

Head: 40k-55k there are a few around 70ks

Assistant: 20k-40k very few in 50k range

I ALWAYS go into a job having an idea of the price range of what they will pay, and they always start off with the lowest number. I immediately tell them that I feel comfortable with a certain number that is higher than what was offered. I do not jump to a number that is obviously too high. Every time I have given a number, they have came back the next day with approval.

How about we call out jobs who don't post the salary range in the application at all like Georgia State..who are they trying to trick here?

And how do you suggest people call them out? There’s people who take those jobs, so until positions don’t get filled there’s not much anyone can do. Whining about coaching salaries won’t ever result in change - there’s grinders taking volunteer jobs who willingly accepted those. They hope it works out for them in the long run and that’s their decision.

Some private D3s pay better than D1. A lot of the top academic D3 schools will be in the $85-$110K range for Head Coaches. I actually took a pay cut to go into D1.

So what! Whether a salary is posted or not- do your own research and find out what the current/former coach was paid; what other coaches make at that institution and in that conference. Also have your floor, ceiling and middle amount that makes sense for you to live on and have the experience(s) and references to back it up. Ask what the "expected pay range" is and if it's up for disscussion. Some of ya'll come off so helpless and pitiful! More people are negotiating their salaries than you Debbie downers think!

Lol if you post a job and you don't list what the pay range is you're obviously hiding something. What a joke. If you're okay with wasting your time on an interview only to find out they're paying 25k and partial benefits then go nuts I guess. I'm too far in my career to take risks like that.

Agree with one condition--if the school or AD is willing to have a preliminary conversation or answer an email inquiry about the salary range so no one wastes their time, I’m ok with it. I understand schools are reluctant to put a number out there if they think they can get a bargain in the salary negotiations

From my experience, a few very well funded DI’s power 4’s pay awesome but the back half of DI is broke city.

The conference I used to work in (DI) it was more along the lines of 60k for director and 30-40k for assistants. None of the programs had 6 coaches either.

Id say get into coaching if you can financially make it work. Some family money, spouse with a job that pays well.

Ga State is what it is The Sun Belt is simultaneously a top 10 track conference and bottom 10 XC conference (I would say they are usually the best of the worst in XC, and not way below average with App State's depth and the success of individuals from Ark State, South Alabama, and Coastal Carolina).

Ga State has been at the bottom of both track and XC. I imagine Page will try to be successful somewhere. You just need 50-60 track points to be top half of the conference.

My guess is they will try to go after field event and relays and try to not finish in the last 3 at the outdoor meet. Being in downtown Atlanta with no facility or recent success means distance will be what it is. But, because of XC it will not be completely ignored.

Probably paying a very modest wage in the 40-50k range, with some scholarships.

Did the Palmers leave? If so, where to?
