Ive seen some salary posts and agree that we shouldn't devalue ourselves, but i think a lot of it comes from not knowing. So what is the salary range that experienced and new coaches should be aiming for?
D1-??
D2-??
D3-??
NAIA-??
JUCO-??
With the exception of JUCO, I've been at all these levels. Here's my ballpark.
First, there is significant variation in D1 (really, all divisions) - so simply putting D1 #s down doesn't translate well. These #s are for full-time positions
P4 Head Low to Mid 6 figures
P4 Assistants Near 100K to low 6 figures
G5 Heads Near 100K to low 6 figures
G5 Assistants 30/40K on the low end and pushing upper double digits for some on the high
D2 Head 40/50K on the low end and pushing upper double digits for some on the high. I don't know any earning 100K or above, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are some.
D2 Assistants 20/30K on the low end and 50-60K on the high end
D3 Heads - wide range of 40K on the low end to mid/upper double digits; some on the very high end are above 100K
D3 Assistants - 10/20K on the low end and 40/50K on the high end; though, there are a few over 50K
NAIA - Haven't been here for years but would guess it is similar to D3; although, I'm not sure they have as many high end paid coaches as D3
UCO - Someone else would need to provide ranges
