Correct me if I’m wrong but cba is better the niwot? Like by a decent margin.
Does not seem like they have gone 100%. They have had 1 race at sea level and it was boiling. Regions was a tempo effort. Sullivan has also been closing the gap on Culpepper all year. Was he injured this summer or just peaking on his own I see he got 26th at state than 39th at natis last year so he has closed the gap crazy fast before.
these teams live at altitude. also cba genuinly gets so much hate for no reason after reading this thread its crazy. looked into speed ratings and their last race got rated 5 points lower then any other year on this course, and people still are hating on them when they put up a 187-188 5 man in any other year
What looks to be the really fast utah teams this year. these four seem to be the ones to watch out for come nxr sw
Herriman 14:51 15:16 15:18 15:20 15:51
American Fork 14:45 15:17 15:33 15:43 15:47
Riverton 15:15 15:15 15:23 16:02 16:11
Taylorsville 15:34 15:40 15:50 15:54 16:12
Mountain view was very strong in 4A as well
15:06 15:54 15:59 16:07 16:17
For the girls, Lone Peak was spectacular. Lock them in for an NXN spot if they run like that again that in three weeks. Jane Hedengren shows she's a legit contender for the individual championship.

yeah the coastal elite private school white kids are so oppressed.

Niwot's biggest strength is their depth and their tight spread from 1-7. Sullivan's performance both this year and last year indicates that he performs much better at sea level. State is a hilly course at a high elevation of 6,000+ feet. Niwot's 2nd runner from state last year didn't score for them at NXR or NXN. Since Niwot has strong depth, it doesn't seem to effect them too much when 1 or 2 people have an off day.
last xc year had a really impressive junior class list. you had guys like putz, mechura, hansen, steorts and gavenas all performing at a really high level.
This year feels different. You have Caden Lenoard and Spencer but maybe we just have to see nxr before we can make any final statement about it.

Oh the rich 40k a year private school is getting cut down to size online. The poor rich white Christians who are always so oppressed in this cruel cruel world.
As someone familiar with the California teams I can tell you that they are being overrated. Especially Martin Luther King. They are not 14th. Not even close. Matilda Torres is the 3rd best California team right after Beckman and Jesuit.
If I had my way to rank the California teams it would go like this. Beckman 10th, Jesuit 16th, Matilda Torres 21st, Glendora 30th. MLK and Mira Costa not ranked.

remember that none of these teams were able to place top 7 at woodbridge.

1. Not even close to 40k a year.
2. We’re talking about high school cross country here. Chill.
3. CBA is very good. So is Herriman. So is Niwot. Now AF seems to be back in the mix. That’s what makes this fun. Competition ultimately decided in 1 race on a Saturday afternoon in December.
These are perennially good programs with tremendous coaches. They all have found success this season and will certainly have a chance on December 7th.
In the latest edition of the COROS MileSplit50 Boys Teams XC Rankings, Herriman (Utah) holds on to No. 1, Beckman (Calif.) goes from unranked to No. 5.
