Noah Lyles = clownshow

This is pretty much the dumbest thing I've read all week, and I've even seen the430miler's posts.

The people who are complaining about Lyles behavior are probably the same people who are saying it's fine for guys to run shirtless in the summer and then arguing that it's not hurting anyone else if they display their out-of-shape bodies to the rest of the world. Probably offending a whole lot more people than Lyles does! You do you, and let Lyles do Lyles.

No offense, but Michael Normal is extremely boring. So is Coleman. Literally every guy BESIDES Lyles that is any good will fit into your boring, cookie-cutter "classy" sprinter group. In the post you say he is acting like a fool, and also that he is acting cool. Aren’t those things contradictory?

I’d argue he isn’t forcing himself to act cool. He is a silly, offbeat dork, and that is endearing to a vast majority of people watching at home who also feel a little offbeat.

Exactly. Barry Sanders was one of the best running backs of all time in the NFL. When he scored, he just handed the ball to the ref and then went back to the sideline. He didn't dance, he didn't showboat. Noah Lyles is an imbecile.

Sydney McLaughlin is by far the most popular athlete in US track and she doesn't dance around like an idiot. The argument that acting like a moron makes him more popular is flat out wrong.

He's being an actually entertaining figure in an otherwise fairly dry sport. People are some serious haters. It's a sport where victory is determined by a near singular performance, put up or go home. Hype and celebration are what people want to see, it adds humanity, it's fun. Not everyone needs to be some extreme show-boater, but people also don't watch sports to see who the fastest emotionless automaton is.

No you're not. Prove it. As a current ncaa athlete, I see sprinters do antics before they race all the time. even if you somehow are, I bet your program is trash with a coach like you. But if you really are, post your email!
