The level of idiocy in this topic is astounding. Physiology matters.

The reason that Mo was so good on the track was that he has fast twitch muscle fibers! These fibers are faster but aren't oxygenated nearly as much as slow twitch. These fast twitch muscle fibers are actually a negative in the marathon.

To assume Mo is failing with a 2:05 marathon would be like calling usain bolt a failure if he decided to move up to the mile and only ran 3:49

On this I agree with you. If he tries to race the guys doing the 5k and 10k, but especially the 5k he will begin to lose. Kejelcha has made massive improvements and is using mad tactics. Even though guys out kick him in the end, it makes for quick 5k times. Farah's last two 5k races at the worlds and the diamond league showed him where things were headed in this event. The 10k is where there is still lack of depth. Apart from cheptegei, no one wants to run fast. Farah cd still boss that one for a bit, before cheptegei starts to beat him there too.

The 10000 meters did NOT have heats in the 2012 and 2016 Olympics.

One thing I will give his team credit for without any question is that the man has never been injured! Never missed a championship or season through injury. Never. He has probably never missed a race through injury either. One or two at most if there is. What the hell is that? Some runners have been ruined by either injuries or poor recovery mgt. Goes to show you the kind of machinery behind him.

Presumably, you and the many others who make that argument, include Kipchoge as one of the 'big guns' who moved to the road.

Is this the same Kipchoge who couldn't even make the 2012 Olympic team?

He’s missed quite a lot of criss country races with injury given as the reason.
