Brief update from me. Ran 200m last night in 29.97. Best time was 29.87 from 6 weeks ago.
Actually fairly encouraging as it was run into a -3.0 headwind, so apparently is worth 29.62 according to a few conversion tools online.
My start is absolutely horrendous. Was 5m behind everyone after 50m, and then overtook most of them through the next 150m. Indicates I have top end speed for something much faster, and that there are a lot of gains to be made.
Got a 400m and a 200m on Wed, and if I can get under 29.5 and under 64.5 (best time 65.3), that's a decent start for 3 months of solid training. Got 2 months after that with dedicated sprint sessions, so hoping to get well under 29 by Xmas. Obviously, I need 27.5 to crack 60, but that doesn't seem impossible as a long-term goal.
