Absolutely - George deserves a big salute - definitely worth at least an article in the local paper - actually he deserves a spot in a running magazine - if I had a running magazine this would have already been done!

Thanks, you guys, helping me hijack this Atlanta thread with my fogey running feats, just in time for the publication of my new book, Life After Google: The Fall of Big Data and Rise of the Blockchain Economy. In general, I do prefer running to writing. But this heat is getting to me. After the first mile yesterday, I slipped to nine minute plus pace (in a mere 5K). I hope it will be cooler for the Boilermaker 15K on Sunday in Utica where 9 minute miles will not cut it.

He did indeed run well and often.........especially in those colorful flowered shorts! I forgot about those. He also didn't have GPS, Strava, heart rate monitors, and a whole host of other high tech crap. He just got out there and punished people with a brutal pace.

I wrote the title of the book down on a sticky note - sounds very interesting - if it's reasonably priced, I'll purchase a copy - you're the exact age as my pop and there's no way he could run anywhere near what you do now and he's reasonably fit - he does walking and cycling-so all I can say is congrats and NO you did NOT hijack the thread - sure, it may have turned down a side road, but so what? - It's not that difficult to get back on the main road - that's why I pointed out the outstanding Peachtree efforts of Kevin Castille and Ellie Abrahamson a little earlier - I want people to get those names in their heads also.

Not sure if this has been mentioned or not yet but I'm watching the replay of Peachtree right now.

I'm a big Gwen fan but seeing her run side by side to Allie Keifer I'm doubting Gwen can figure things out by 2020. Her arm swinging is so wild she's just sucking energy.

Allie Keifer couldn't run more compact it's very impressive. Also she looks better built for Marathon. She's lean but muscular where Gwen looks like she's going to break if she runs to hard.

Thoughts? Comments?

Don't know much about Keifer but it looks like you have spotted perhaps a 2024 team member for the marathon - I just don't see Gwen top 3 in 2020 OTM - in 2020 I see Jordan, Molly, and Des - if Molly does not try out for the marathon then I see Amy instead for 2020- but you may be on to something for 2024 - I sound like a broken record, but man Ellie Abrahamson surprised the heck out of me - no way has she been doing specific 10K training and she pretty much out of nowhere finishes less than 2 minutes behind the winner and 50 seconds or so behind Gwen - so I predict some incredible things from Ellie.
