Yep and his b sample appears to have failed and officials claim that the samples weren't tampered with. In short Kiprop’s tweet was utter bull from start to finish, yet some people on here believed it. His excuse now belongs in the realms of epo puddles, the lady deserved a treat, tainted steaks, disappearing twins, and passionate kissing.

The AIU had to say something but with the advance notice and the money they have no leg to stand on, not to mention the blackmailing for that ambassador crap (Paula R. anyone ?). Kiprop either has a lot of nerve or he's innocent. Yes, dopers will come up with any old excuse but this one strikes me as rather "unique", time will tell...

Anti-Doping is a complete joke. Diack and now Coe, prove this. Just look at cycling - corrupt to the very core at every single level. Kiprop (and all those labelled as dopers) absolutely deserve the benefit of the doubt in this present climate.

As a Kenyan I hate to admit it. From the look of things, Kiprop was doping. He should definitely be jailed.

whatever the next time brings, one thing is safe for me. the test system in kenya needs an evaluation, but certainly not only there it is questionable wether test have a meaning.

I thought the same thing yesterday. What a parody! And I would add toothpaste and menopause to the list.

Kiprop may have doped, but the case should be thrown out because there were so many irregularities in the testing back in November, 2017.

The time frame is also open to question. Why did it take so long, 6 months, to publish these findings?

I think most lawyers/attorneys/judges would give Asbel a 'not guilty' verdict, because it would be difficult/impossible to prove, beyond reasonable doubt, that Kiprop is guilty of the alleged charges.

Actually nothing was "published", the info was leaked, probably when it looked likely to the leaker that this was going to go away. How could it not, regardless of his guiltiness Kiprop had too many cards in his hand (advance notice, request for money) for the AIU to seriously consider banning him without looking stupid.

Unlike Froome with a non-tainted process he would have been banned months ago as there was no doubt about the substance.

Casual, they say great minds think alike (though mine ain't great), I was honestly going to too add it but I couldn't remember who used it.....Dieter Baumann, Mr 12:54!

I had a similar thought. Parts of his story may be true. It just seems more likely that there was an attempt to bribe,or a past practice of bribing, that did not work on this occasion for some reason. I am skeptical but I guess we will see,

Baumann, yes, that drug cheat kept his European record until 2011. Still has the German one of course, and Olympic gold. What a shame.

Kiprop on the other hand has no world or African or Kenyan record to keep, right? But lots of golds. Also a shame.

He's raised the bar for doping excuses so much you'd have to be Bubka to top it. Next guy will need to issue a short novel as the bare minimum.

Officially holds the 'Diamond League' 1500m record.

Also, if the IAAF follows through with European Athletics's plans to scrap pre 2005 world records, He would get the 1500m WR, the irony, they would take it off El Guerrouj and give it to Kiprop in an act of cleaning up the sport, ha, classic. Only in Athletics.
