Following that train of thought, should we also stop the prohibition on opiates, meth, cocaine, etc.? They were all legal at one time (hell cigarettes and meth were administered by the military to keep troops awake and alert during WWII).

You guys realize this kid is going to be fine, right? He - does - come from money and this really isn't that big of a deal. Easy plea bargain to community service, probation, and a pretty decent fine.

That's the great problem with the American system. Singapore's so called archaic system is much more humane when you look at the overall numbers of death, crime, etc. linked to the drug trade. We have a huge problem with drugs in this country because we are so tolerant.

Yeah, I agree. Like most posters here I knew people in college that smoked copious quantities but still excelled in school and many professionals I know still smoke it. As far it's effect on runners I heard that Pre smoked more than his share.

What should be taken from this story is that if he was aware of the laws he was taking a big risk and if he didn't he was a moron.
