Sandra Vi going for record across America

There is no such thing a "solo" cross country run. You would be running. Carrying everything in a pack with clothes and food. Setting up a sleeping place. And buying and cooking your own food.

Of course there are solo cross country runners out there.

Sure there are solo runs.. Unsupported and self supported.

Pete and Sandra do supported. With money it's not that hard to organise.

An RV with a spare driver, tracker, route planned, etc.

James Shapiro ran his cross US run before GPS existed. He took him 80 days to complete what he called his Zen run.

Sandra is going fully supported. Lots of people will likely be involved so that doesn't mean this Phan woman is anything amazing. Just part of organising people to support this run

They can support you along the way but the runner still has to do the running.

Faster???? That doesn't mean anything. Pete K averaged 11-12 minutes per mile on his run; not counting rest breaks and sleep. His marathon PR is just over 6 minutes per mile.

Faster has nothing to do with. Being able to run for hours on end at a steady pace is what matters.

Yes, faster. Being faster than the previous record holder. Faster than the previous best doesn't mean they have to be a fast runner banging out 6 min miles.

This is interesting. Sandra Vi's record attempt was postponed to Tuesday September 9th. One day after Mimi Anderson is planned to start in LA.

I guess they would like to try to control the race to New York.

This will be exciting to watch.

On Saturday, September 09, 2017 at 6am, Sandra Vi will attempt to run across America in under 55 days (55 miles per day average) to be the fastest woman to cross America on foot.

The 307 mile route through California starts in San Francisco at City Hall and goes south to San Mateo, crosses the Dumbarton Bridge to Fremont, through Tracy, over Manteca to Yosemite, Lee Vining and crosses into Nevada near Benton Springs on hwy 6.

This is so true! Where are you Kaiha. You really need to add this record to your other free bleed one.

After Sandra fails on day three I think Meatballs and this Phan chick should team up and get Kaiha to beat the record, she would beat it by at least a week

Sandra and Mimi should start their transcons at the same time so whoever gets to the finish line first gets the record.
