Breaking: IAAF/British have BARRED Isaac Makwala from competing in 400 final because he's sick

Also, I am really concerned with something Paula brings up in the clip that was linked above: in light of these events, a reasonable athlete might now fear presenting with medical symptoms to their team doctor.

I feel bad for the guy too, but all you people need to learn the difference between fair and equal. Bolt and Farah have earned the right to be treated differently. Therefore, it's not equal that they probably would have been allowed to compete if this unfortunate situation happened to them, but it is fair. They are much more high profile. For instance, if you're a coach and you have some stud, (All-American/National Champion) of course he'll be able to get away with more than a 4 min 1500m walk on. It's just the way it goes. Bolt and Farah have earned that right to be treated a little differently.

Where's the public health emergency being issued over athlete accommodations? They used the weight of their enormous bureaucracy to target a single athlete.

Glad to see other athletes supporting him.

And remember, Kenya pulled Lagat out of the 2003 World Championships when they were notified of a positive A sample without waiting for the B sample to be tested.

The B sample turned out negative.

Lagat then won a Silver for Kenya the next year while changing citizenship to the US for the rest of his career and getting two US gold medals.

Lagat does not like athletes being pulled from competition.

1) His coach said that Makwala told him he never todl them he was sick the night before at 10pm (the doctor said he said that so either one is lying or their is a miscommunicaiton).

2) Even if he was sick, who cares, you don't ban him.

for rojo's benefit, African's have a different way with facts, they are malleable to the moment, which is to say, you can't take coach literally. he's capturing the feeling of the moment, well maybe probably.

this analysis works most days of the week.

with that said, the issue like rojo said, he was kicked out for no LEGIT reason. no reason in law. no reason in IAAF code,.

what they are going to try to do, that is the IAAF and especially their pompous doctors, is to take issues with the African coaches statements.... which i'd guess are kind of all over the place, in relation to the "white man's " interpretation of events. which is to say they are prone to work it.

You septics are amazing, if a known sick athlete had been allowed in to the stadium and the athlete preparation rooms/tents etc and coughed and spluttered all over your athletes and passed something on to them so they were sick and unable to compete to their max, or not at all, you would care.
